I haven't played it yet this patch, I'm messing with Ele Barb. But I would be surprised if Cold Wolf wasn't still really solid. It's definitely nerfed, 5 frame vs 3 frame attack is a big deal, but I don't think it's a meme or non viable. It should still be able to do most content pretty well and with less restrictive weapon choices.

I started this build in HC this ladder. My wolf is currently at level 122, so still far from end game level. All 115 content has been pretty easy and I have been using mostly TU items. It's not very fast at farming/clearing so far, but most bosses melt down.

I'll try to update later how it works at higher level areas.

PS: Reached level 125, farming Teganze is extremely easy, although a bit slow

Update: Level 129 now, farming Fautzinville.

Cold Wolf is still solid, as long as you maximize the uptime on Howl of the Spirits and -%5 avoid nerf is unnoticable with all those defensive layers.

What about putting skill points into the seer tree for fire/cold spell DMG? I do this instead of smaxing twisted claw, +135% spell dmg

Primary source of damage is cold damage added to the weapon (innate+adds cold damage affix). Cold spell damage bonus only amplifies procs like blizzard, cryo beam etc.
