I thought cold spell damage had no effect on tornados and harbringer? It should only affect direct melee hits, right?

On the ranged Tornadoes yes it works, i've made multiple crafted swords now and in the tooltip in increases with spell damage. As well as testing the dmg with higher and lower spell dmg, you can really tell when the nados are hitting 8-)

Cold spell damage and pierce affects spell procs like Blizzard and Cryo Beam. That’s huge when farming.

Twisted Claw tooltip might be wrong.

I am wrong. But it feels off because in the Cold Wolf thread, one of the answers is from SuchBalance and states that yes, the only skill that benefints from spell dmg is mana pulse:
But when i make a spell dmg weapon, it 100% feels stronger.Yes of course the on hit dmg is lower, when looking in d2stats. I also don't use Blizz procs, so maybe it's just the cryobeam that was so strong this whole time lol. In the tooltip it shows +30k on twisted claw, so i guess it's the cryobeam proc increasing?

Also, durability is a VERY serious issue starting from t11, and your weapon won't be able to survive a full clear. This problem has two solutions. One is expensive and the other is a horrible time sink. Either get a second cold blood and shield of hakan, or craft a jewel with 15% IAS and Indestructible. A third solution could be using two

on cold hunger, and MO IAS and 3 marksman's eye, and replace a jewel with a Ber rune or indestructible jewel... But sounds even more expensive than the first one and you lose 150 LoA.


I'm curious about your setup and choice to include Quov Tsin's on the neck. It sounds like with Emp rings and Shield of Hakan you're going for more survivability, so it seems like Black Dwarf would be the tanky choice here. Is the IED too good to pass up? I mean 15% is huge but if you're already making DPS sacrifices for tankiness why choose the neck slot?
