I started as poison and never swapped off of it. Leveling as poison sorc is actually incredibly smooth. Had no issues until hell. This is where you start needing pierce to help boost the damage on arachnomancy. Sometimes even spamming lorenado is better because arachnomancy has issues damaging moving targets. Other than that i legit used the tiered uniques listed in early game and im clearing k3k like its nothing. The only issue i had was killing radament act 2 hell. Probably because he has 75% poison resist and i wasnt breaking the resists with pierce.


- poison sorc needs access to more pierce for early game progression else you are better off crafting your gear until you get the set for mid game.
- going to be crafting gear today to see if you can use crafted gear for pierce and in order to transition into mid game set pieces.

any advice for mastery tree?

i mean- 10/10 spec is clear,

but the rest-

+ meditation is not needed because mana isnt the problem?
+ what about tenacity? are we capping 50% phys res? (mid game / end game gear)
+ purity for scosglen- is scosglen even needed? if not, we have another mastery slot free

+ remaining 3rd slot- endurance or chemistry?

for coven- i start with vengeful power + living flame instead of warp armor. let's see- any pro's for warp armor?

next one: do we want to have a specific +% poison skill duration, e.g. +210%/+420%/... for more lorenados? and if yes, where is the breaking point, i mean- i guess it's not worth to have all sockets with shael- instead we still want to reach 2000 energy, 1000 spell focus and decent amount of spell damage; besides of that 175% poison pierce.

I would like to try poison if you guys say its pretty good for mid game. I would still start off leveling as Fire as flamefront is really good for packs and its good at lvl 1, even tho it does not pierce it does splash. Flamestrike does good damage but only when the target is stationary, its also good for target locking and waiting until the target dies. Fire is very similar to the lightning skills. I would do one or the other. Theres no real good reason to start as light or fire and transition to the other. Unless you plan on playing Tempest. You would say that Fire is long range, lightning is mid range, cold is short range and melee is... melee. Where does poison fit in here? lol

lightning is considered long range with fire. poison is mid range if anything cold is short

Well, I've seen lots of procs on items and they don't seem to need to give you the skill they're proccing.


But I noticed that the proc says "on kill" which in this game is a melee kill whereas "death blow" is any kill... so another question is "how does it proc for a caster sorc?"

Or is the text just wrong?

nah it would still count since Glacial Torrent is an Attack now. that just means you have to kill using Glacial Torrent and not Frigid Nova. but i agree with you it should be on death blow 100%
