4. Use Akara's Robe after saving Cain.
5. If you wish to, you can farm the forgotten tower in black marsh to gather more runes.
6. Finish the act.
Keep an eye out for this:- Pick up every rare Wand and Necro shield (the heads), **I found a +2 necro shield pretty early on.**
- Pick up a grey staff with 2 sockets one so we can make Pax Mystica eventually in our weapon swap.
- Pick up all the runes. Need a couple of runewords eventually, also helps out to make some runewords for your mercenary.
- Pick up grey items for your merc so you can make runewords.
- If you find a blue magic sash, put it in your stash, we'll use it at the start of Act 5 to make a honorific item.
- Always check the shops for a 40% movement speed boot.
Act 2 highlights**Nothing special here** Just do all the quests and finish the act.
Keep an eye out for this:- Start looking out for tier 1-2 bases, the item has a (1) or (2) at the end of the name. We are going to make them into uniques. You need the following bases:
**Marrow Staff (1) or (2).
**Mask (1) or (2).
**Field Plate (1) or (2).
The reason we aim for Tier (2) is that we need less Nihlathak runs to craft our items. But it's fine either way.
Act 3 highlights**Nothing special here** Just do all the quests and finish the act.
Act 4 highlights- Do all the quests and finish the act.
Keep an eye out for this:- Start looking out for any glove or boot base that has 2 socketed grey gloves and boots.
**PS: If you don't find them, pick up any type of boots or gloves that is tier 2, cube it with a oil of renewal and it will turn into a superior item. If it did not get sockets. Put the now white item in the cube together with 2x jewels. This will make the item a 2 socketed item.
Act 5 highlights1. After you do the first quest in A5, the boss will drop a Mark of Infusion. Go to A1 and buy a magic sash (blue) and cube it with the mark that dropped.
**Go to Gheed and buy 5x Elemental Resist 3%. And use them on your honorific belt (green).
2. After you have done Frozen Rivers and rescued Anya, go kill Nihlathak

3. Farm Nihlathak until you have loads of crystals. Just for your own gear you need minimum 6 arcane crystals. And if you only found tier 1 bases you need 9 arcane crystals. PS: Don't go level up more than to level 53!
**If you get stuck on finding bases, you can always look for bases by gambling from Anya in Act 5.
- When your armor, helmet and weapon is tier 2 unique, you can gems to your armors.
Bloodstones gives Fire Res. Turquoise gives Poison Resistance. Amber gives Lightning Resistance. Sapphire and Onyx gives Cold Resistance.
- If you want to, you can add bloodstone gems into your weapon for more % minion life.4. After you kill the last wave of Baals minion, there will spawn a red portal. Don't enter yet. Go kill Baal
5. Run from the WP all the way back to the throne room, and then enter the portal.

If you want to, you can now gear up your mercenary by farming more Nihlathak. But there is no need imo as you are switching to Necrolyte eventually.

Nightmare- Whenever you get more crystals and you added 5x strength orbs to your belt, you will have 115 str.
This means that you can upgrade your Marrow Staff to tier 3 without having to respec.
- While getting arcane crystals, try to upgrade your mercenary gear if you haven't farmed for it yet. But beware!

- Ennead Challenge (minimum level 80)
**You gain access this challenge through killing Mephisto in Nightmare Difficulty, and then enter the red portal to go to the end and kill a Ennead Necromancer boss to obtain a Heroic Torch. Place the torch in the Horadric Cube and transmute to receive your class charm.
PS: Once you hit level 90 and start adding points into Veil King, check the mana requirement to summon it before you add points!! It increases a lot of mana each level up, so you might start wanting to add more energy when you go with higher Veil King skill level.
--Pre-Hell--
After you kill Baal in Nightmare, it is time to farm shard in Nihlathak Normal to upgrade both your own gear.
Do not upgrade your gear before you have collected at least 6 Arcane Crystals for your own gear. Because it is only then we do the respec so we have enough strength (check the next Hell section).
PS: Remove your gems with a Oil of Disjunction + Armor in the cube before upgrading the gear!
