Unfortunately Reshade isn't working (only DX9+) for me neither in D3D nor in OpenGL (Glide) mode. Maybe i just wasn't stubborn enough when tried.
Also didn't tried sharpening in AMD/NVIDIA control panels. Pretty sure it's also locked to DirectX versions 9 and above (D2 is DX7 game) but maybe you'll catch some luck with that bundled stuff in Glide at least.
