We should make set bonuses more linear in progression. Currently, a full set gives you a total of 10 mods, and it progresses as such: 2 pieces gives you + 1 mod, 3 pieces gives you + 1 mod, 4 pieces gives you + 1 mod, and 5 pieces gives you + 7 mods, for a total of ten mods for wearing the whole set.

Let’s consider and alternate formula for a minute: 2 pieces gives you + 2 mods, 3 pieces gives you + 2 mods, 4 pieces gives you + 3 mods, and 5 pieces gives you + 3 mods.

You are still getting the same overall effect for having the entire set, the difference is that the progression is more “linear”.

I think this would be a good thing because it would make sets much less “all or nothing” in nature. Dipping a set for 2-4 pieces would be a much more viable option, and would open up more character builds.

Do you agree?

Agree, with this change we could even mix a full set with another partial set and get a synergy

Did you take into consideration the use of 2 parts of 3 different sets for total of +6 mods ? How would that affect char power and gameplay overall ? Might break the game with that.

Yea, I don't think that's a great idea for game balance because the concept of wearing the full set is that you gain a bunch more bonuses when all pieces are equipped, vs just adding another piece that would give the same amount of affixes that all the other pieces do. plus what anon said, would be pretty game breaking. There's already pretty decent bonuses for partial set pieces like poison characters wearing two pieces of celestia pouncezon set for the belt gives 5% dr, boots give some speed, and two pieces there give 30 pierce.

sets are not "all or nothing " . there are many parts that are great as individual parts (some of them are comparable to SU's) , there are also enough combos of 2 (see 2 parts of Zakarum set for Wolf Stance as example ) or 3 parts (see 3 Vasily's set parts for 25% SoR after kill / 3 Lone wolf parts for Firedance oskill as example) which put togather can provide a serious advantage

so no , i don't agree
