is bis currently. Otherwise a crafted shield with high defense/dr%/skills is okay.

I've only used a5 merc in mid/late game. They can be geared cheaply for crowd control through procs/reanimates. With more expensive gear they can provide nice buffs. While they are very tanky, barrels in Duncraig or multiple arrowsides in Tran Athulua will kill them. A3 would be useful for phys immunes provided you can keep them alive.

Can someone explain why you need attack rating with thornstike? Is the % chance to hit listed on the character sheet for thorn strike mean the % chance for each thorn to actually hit the enemy?

Just from the animation and the fact that thornstrike doesn't proc "on attack" type items, I thought it was acting more like a spell and all of the thorns that are on the ground are hitting the enemies.

Do you guys have 1 point in it or max it for the bit of extra damage?

Hi All,

Can someone confirm that TreeWarden doesn't block at all even if you raised your dex and have 75% block on paper?
I opened the speed calculator and block rate is greyed out so I assume he doesn't block.

Thanks

yes , you block , but the morph has no shield , so it has no block animation -> it can not make use of faster block rate (reason why you can't see it in the calculator). it uses faster hit recovery to block faster .

weapon damage attacks need attack rating to succesfuly hit . it's not a spell , it's an attack , so it needs attack rating .

you may keep Thorn strike as 1-pointer to avoid higher mana costs . the damage bonus per hard point is insignificant

Does bonus dmg from thornstrike adds to weapon dmg and multiplies by EWD% ?
