Quick Tips
Before you start:
  • If you plan to play SSF, be aware that Multiplayer has a lower chance to roll Uniques. Therefore, gearing up takes longer.

  • Pickup all uniques you find to disenchant.

  • Use D2Stats for the drop notifier

    Playthrough tips:
    • Pick up Bloodstone/Onyx/Amber/Turquoise gems in the early game for armor sockets, resists are very important.

    • Mercenaries: I personally prefer using melee mercenary for this build as our spells are ranged. A2 shapeshifter is good tank and bloodlust buffer early on. However mid-late game, Necrolyte merc feels good as a debuffer during farming. Check this guide for merc guide (may be a bit outdated)

    • Limit attribute points spent into str. Stick with low requirement bases and maximize dex. Rely on charms for str.

    • Always rerun ubers for high or perfect charm rolls.

    Troubleshooting: (middle game)
    • My dmg is low, why?
      • Did you MO all your item slots up to your level?
      • Did you consume 400 sigs?
      • Did you spend all your base attribute points in dex till bp you selected?
      • Did you gather all uber charms up to your level?
      • Did you rerun ubers for high or perfect roll charms? ← Most people omit this; they shouldn't.
        If you answered yes to all, you simply need better gear. Check the Item Upgrades section.
    • I am dying too fast, Why ?
      • Did you consume 400 sigs?
      • Did you spend all your base attribute points in vit after reaching ur dex bp?
      • Did you gather all uber charms up to your level?
      • Did you rerun ubers for high or perfect roll charms?
      • MO vit on items which have excess MO space
      • Get yourself a melee merc to distract enimies which have been attacking you

    • How much mf should I have?
        As a general rule, killspeed is always preferable to mf. 200-250-ish MF is good. Mf above that number has big diminishing returns.

Strategy: Invisible enemies → Lead with Stormcall. Askari bosses and feyrs → BE SURE TO GET THE CRYSTAL SUNLESS BIRD (a kinda trophy which upgrades the charm) Best place to farm gold.→ Rerun for high pierce charm.

Location: Act 2 Tran Athulua north-east to Skartara (grab wp) north, summon boss on platform with Askari Scroll (a Priestess drop)

Strategy: Get your merc and SOV up, go to the center of the altar in island of skartara, there is something there which merc and SOV will hit, use this for SOV to summon undeads, let it summon a nice pack of undead and then read scroll. Athula will be busy with Undead and merc,easy askari, if all undeads and merc die, tele with spirit on boss, so spirit will bring up more undeads

Strategy:We dont want reanimates with this guy, cuz he would aggro-spawn harvesters then, turn on Ecstatic frenzy, summon spirit, turn of frenzy to disable ranimates, scan area for harvesters, they summon minions and give invuln aura, spam askari on them and boss, use stormcall to locate boss when he is invis, dont touch tornados, tele out of circle if you have to.

Strategy:
Maze → Takes 30-60 mins to gather the set, but you only have to run the maze once.
Boss → Full Vita respec, skills = Curare (Max), Lioness (1) Endurance (Max), Melee Devotion (1/Max), Chemistry (Max) Wild & Free (Max), Defensive Harmony (Max), Ecstatic frenzy and Fortitude (Max)
Arcane Blast to clear trash, Holybolt to dmg boss, i usually get away frm him, turn back towards him and move slowly, and let him teleport on me and then hit with holybolt. Always leave a handful of mobs alive and dodge things. Rerun boss for a +1sk, perf spell dmg charm.

I have one concern after jumping on this, watching you fight witch and you have SEVERE mana problems. Is this with mana regen mo's and everything? I would expect it to be a little bad, but not this bad.

Yeah thats with 5x mana regen MOs on jewelery

Mana issues are pretty bad yeah, the bosskiler skill Askari Lightning costs too much mana. Only solution being pots

First, guide looks quite complete and with very good detailing. Kudos! :)

Second, yeah Mana is an extreme problem in this build I'm afraid. Can tell by first hand experience. Just have to get luck with jewel crafts and amulets/rings with some form of mana/energy roll but even then, scosglen farming for example is pretty exhausting on mana.

I noticed that on your videos you have a slight frame loss/stutters that makes the game not run as smooth and could be a causation of many character deaths due to poor reaction. If you are using Glide go to the settings and make sure you untick texture for videos and bilinear filtering.

my machine is really trash, i cant record in glide, it lags, so i have to do it in d3d (this improved performance a lot), but it still lags hehe

After all the spoilers in the discord finally it's there :)

Turned out very detailed and well written.
Idk if it was changed unnoted but afaik cast speed breakpoints for most onehanded weapons - especially the bases that have good items for caster zon -(scpeters, One handed swords, maces) have max cast rate of 6 frames at 163fcr.
So using a Stave does not only make you loose a shield but also puts you in worse cast animations.

I haven't read completely through it but after a ctrl + F for "Nova Charge" I assumed that you did not mention the prebuff with Nova Charge from a crafted Elemental weapon (pref Crystal Sword). NC converts 20% of your base dex to flat energy and thus helps with the mana sustain.
If you can hit a really good roll on Crystal swords (4 all skill, Nova Charge, and one out of (Laek, SF, light pierce, PR, cnbf, overall/light sd) I would even consider it as main wepaon cause Nova chargehas actual good damage against mobs that slip through and come near you.

Anyway, nice guide - keep it up!

didnt know about the staff thingy, removed it completely from suggestions cuz losing a shield and cast speed for some extra dmg on zon lvl survivability, nah (the staff already has -cast speed affix too lol)
