You spawn guardian spirits in a circle around him. Keep some distance between each one so they don't get aoe'd by balefire too much. He can't kill them too fast and they whittle him down.

Sometimes it spawns invisible beams with the same duration as "main beams" (but starts after visible beams).
If you kill everything fast enough and jump away - can hit the same "invisible beam" and die.
Does not happen often, but when it does - be sure that trophy will remain on ground
And Gidbin - check armor stand near ratma square. Sometimes it drops here. Useless item, but probably lowest damage weapon in game =)
