Not a stupid question. It happens to me a lot as well. What I do is
1. Check the whole area (around the Gidbinn activating thing). It creates a little monster who drops it and he is very dark and almost transparent. Not easy to see.
2. Leave the area and come back.
To leave the area it can be going down into the dungeon there or run out into the forest. Or TP to town as a last resort.
If that fails you might need to make a new game but it's only the Gidbinn. Not a very important quest really.

My first experiences in this new Season:
1, Honestly I feel like i messed this up. Started out with a barbarian (iron spiral). Have all the midgame gear. but im unable to farm any places...
2, swapped to midgame throw . the damage is far better , but a die like a fly. Go to dest a5 is ez, but in ubers no chance
3, azmodan is simply retarded, requires no tactics. Invisible mobs 2 hit me from 400k def , constant fire nukes... Takes my 1 hour to kill him.
4, I dont know it is RNG , or badluck . But out of 10 k3k 5 tcow, 5 dest tran athula i ran with a friend. 0 sacred unique. 0 shrine , few rares for craft but nothing i need.
5, Now i am stuck, want to go summoner with abjurer but no magical shrines, or craft bases. But im sure its all candypuff for holy retardin.
Never ever I had a season start with this kind of misery.

Its known vanilla bug that champion boss will not appear only on specific roll of "Gidbin" village where altar is spawned on south area.

Do fast runs on Terror fauzt for magical shrines.
Use white sacred bases drop from early terror with Charsi imbue quest to get ilvl99 rare or ilvl of your choice (to cut higher affixes from pool you dont need on your craft) but keep in mind that:
The imbue quest sets the ilvl to character level plus four. In equation form clvl + 4 = ilvl

I know it's a trivial quest but it pisses me of, new game is the only option.
