if you want to turn him into an elemental (fire) proccerer then why bother with him instead of going for a Bloodmage?


the above suggested setup is both defensive and offensive (Miasma and SoR debuffs , crushing blow for fortress + arrow on striking)

also , ravenbeak has crap (physical) damage , making fortress almost harmless

if you got ideas yourself why bother asking here? go and put them to the test and see what's better for you . it also depends a lot on what your main character build is / does , also on what are your expectations from the merc . you want it to tank? you want it to proc? a little bit of both ? there are a lot of viable gear combinations . there is not just one that is general valid and must be followed to the letter . it's all subjective

you only want to boost his fire power/fire spells/fire procs ? then yes , your toughts about ravenbeak and dragon's blood are ok . you might as well use

then again , it will still be far from how much fire damage can a bloodmage provide no matter what . Pyroblast does more damage than all the fightermage's fire procs put togather

Your thoughts that Dragon's blood will proc a lot are true. However, when I played procdin, I felt that wrath was usually activatated too late since it has a second activation time. So instead of that I'd probably use Albrechts. But Ravenbreak is probably really good if you want to focus on fire damage.

I'd still play that merc with Toorcs and Sea summoner for extra CC. But I guess that's just personal preference. That way the merc is even more CC dominant, but it doesn't do much dmg.

If you really wanna go for damage: Use a Spear with Balefire on attack. It has a 33% chance to proc on meleee attack and 1 melee attack of an A2 merc (except shapeshifter) equals 3 attacks. So it's basically 1 balefire with each attack animation of the a2 merc on average. But yeah, any attack proc is awesome on fighter mage, so go ahead and try it out all you want.

i actually preferred shapeshifter with toor's and sea summoner because they seem to attack faster and be tankier and move quicker to next targets for freeze, but yes I agree with most of hecht

The last time I play the game, -100% resist pierce could easily be accessed by MO. But now, thanks to the removing, the only way I get resist pierce (Mostly elemental) is from the item itself, charms and shrine crafting, or there is a another way?

It would be really cool if there was more to morph. Something build defining.

Once you morph, you can use druid/sorceress only items. Or the item also offer a ton of class skill you otherwise can't get or use.
