Story of the build
I have created the NeutralDin on 7 may 2010 in the patch 1.F9b, back when you could access and use skills from all classes , as they used to spawn on Worldstone Keys , Scrolls of Kings and Azmodan heart (not just COTW's) - all you had to do is farm or trade for the specific charm you wanted , as it was a guaranteed drop , only influenced by the RNGessus regarding which skill it spawned with .
Back then i have noticed that if i did not put any points into neither the holy and the unholy trees and got my Light&Shadow skill from any of the charms above , i could get both benefits (extra damage and extra targets) for my Vessel , so i said "why not ?" and gave it a try . The result ? It worked so fine for almost 9 years (updated on each patch that came out ever since , mostly built around just as a caster under the name "Athelstan" and more recently in the past 2 years it also had a separate Lazydin build, under the name of "The Sloth" , both of them in the miniguides compilation ) that now in Sigma it finally has it's own skill tree . Yes , it's 9 years old , so it's not something actually new , it's just that now it was finally accepted as the official third way of building Paladins , besides Holy and Unholy .
► General info about the Neutraldin
So , what is a NeutralDin ?
A NeutralDin is a paladin which loves both The Holy and The Unholy sides . Being situated between the 2 sides , makes him neutral , therefore he gains access to both the Light and the Shadow trees , which allows him to use all the buffs , passives and summons in those 2 skill trees at the same time -> double benefits
The Light
Vessel of Retribution
Buff : auto targets the enemies in 4 yards AoE , hitting approx. 12 times per second (0.08 seconds delay between blasts)
Rapture
Buff : increases the speeds (cast , attack , hit recovery , block rate , movement)
Solstice and Equinox
Passive : increases the damage and adds more targets for the Vessel of Retribution
Sacred Armor
Buff : adds 25% magic resist , increases the flat defense and life regeneration/second . When used by a neutraldin , it gets 20 seconds duration at 16 seconds timer .
Hoplites
Summons that may cast Retaliate and Inner Fire on attack - cap'ed at 5 max summons - they also got a high chance to avoid attacks . Each 2 hard points into S&E are increasing the max level of this skill - sinergy
Q: What does Retaliate do ?
A: it's one of the holy melee offensive skills , that is dealing 70% weapon damage in a medium aoe , also knocking back the opponents
Q: What does Inner Fire do ?
A: It heals the caster . In other words , the Hoplites got a chance to heal themselves
The Shadow
Vessel of Justice
Buff : auto targets the enemies in 10 yards AoE , hitting approx. 6 times per second (0.16 seconds delay between blasts)
Euphoria
Buff : it pierces the enemies' elemental resist (fire, cold, lightning , poison) . Only benefits from hard points
Life and Death
Passive : increases the damage and adds more targets for the Vessel of Justice
Demiurge
Buff : provides 35 all stats per hard point, may reanimate the opponents as Seraph (higher chance per flat point) . When used by a neutraldin , it gets 20 seconds duration at 16 seconds timer .
Since you can keep it on all the time - get permanent flat stats boost as long as the buff is active - this allows you to go for minimal investment into strength and dexterity in order to wear the gear , as the bonus takes care of most/all of the stats requirements .
Q: How does that work ?
A: You need to go outside town to cast Demiurge -> you now have the flat stats boost -> you can equip the gear
Q: But what happens if i die or if i forget to recast the buff when the timer goes off ?
A: With this new feature of Sigma that auto re-equips all the gear after death , the gear will always stay on even if your stats are not enough , just that you won't be able to benefit from the gear before you boost the stats again .
Q: i have casted Demiurge , but the items are still not usable . What must i do ?
A: In order to use the gear again , you can either lift it up and put it back in slot or use the easy way where you don't even need to open your inventory : use the "w" key to switch attacks , then press it again to revert to your main attack -> all your gear is now back on in less than 1 second
Q: i got my gear back on but the oskill is no longer on my left/right click , i see the normal attack
A: Make sure to assign/bind a key to all your oskills so that you only need to press the key to have it back in no time
Q: What are the Seraphs ? Are they any good ?
A: The Seraphs are one of the strongest reanimates you can access . They are dealing decent physical damage when fighting in melee + they also got stun attacks ; they may also cast Punishers ( heavy poison damage balls ) when they are fighting from a bigger distance
Scourges
Summons that may cast Crucify on attack - cap'ed at 15 max summons - they also got a low chance to avoid attacks . Each 2 hard points into L&D are increasing the max level of this skill - sinergy
Q: What does Crucify do ?
A: Crucify is a melee assassin skill that unleashes spikes on the nearby targets (low AoE) that are dealing 33% weapon damage , converting 25% of the physical damage to magic damage
Special skills
Vindicate
- our innate skill
- provides decent life regeneration/second and increased %weapon damage at a 30 seconds timer
Divine Appariton
- skill granted by finishing the Ennead Challenge
- grants teleport at 3 seconds timer, freezing the opponents at arrival (short freeze aoe , 2 seconds duration)
Revenants
- it's the only uberskill you can now access as a Neutraldin (before Sigma , you could get any of the 3 options )
- It uses the corpses of your opponents to reanimate them and fight for your side . More points into the skill -> stronger reanimates (more life and more damage)
- each reanimate will cost you 10% of your max life to summon
- the maximum number of reanimates is (still) cap'ed at 3 ; there are however many opponents that you cannot reanimate (it's restricted), as they would be overpowered (important bosses/act bosses/most of the elite opponents) . still , i don't see why it's cap'ed at just 3 if you cannot do anything overpowered with it unless having some extra shitty tanks summoned . 9 would have been reasonable cap imho
Blessed life
- skill granted by finishing the Black Road Challenge
- grants flat physical damage reduction and %physical resist per hard point (physical resist = damage reduction - the terminology was changed in Sigma , but it's the same thing )

There are (at least) 4 ways to play as a NeutralDin !
1. Caster Neutraldin - instead of waiting for his vessels to kill his opponents , he uses elemental spells (oskills) to attack his enemies
2. Lazy Neutraldin - he focuses on boosting his vessels to the point where all he needs to do is walk trough crowds and watch stuff die
3. Melee Neutraldin - similar to the caster neutraldin , but instead of using ranged elemental spells , it uses melee attacks (oskills)
4. Summoner Neutraldin - focused on boosting his summons and Revenants
► 1 . Caster Neutraldin
Athelstan
Getting started
Choosing the neutral way , you can no longer access any of the offensive skills from the holy/unholy trees , therefore your main goal in the early levels is to get your hands an elemental oskill as soon as you can , because your vessels alone are not enough to get the job done fast enough
Early options available :
Churel - can be found on magic/rare boots (if lucky)
Apocalypse - can be found on
The Early game
Stats alocation
Strength : enough for gear / 0 - see the Demiurge description above
Dexterity : enough for gear / 0 - see the Demiurge description above
Vitality : 0
Energy: the rest (more spell damage , more mana pool)
Skillplan before level 80
max VoR , VoJ , Demiurge , Life&Death and Solstice%Equinox . 6 points Rapture, 1-pointer Euphoria , all leftovers go to Sacred Armor after level 48 . no summons
Q: So are we not using Sacred armor in the early levels ? Wtf ???
A: not from the beginning , but we will use it a bit later . We don't have enough skill points to make it worth in the early levels , as we will also need points in Rapture too in order to move at a decent speed (SA has a penalty for that) , points that we will start to have just around the level challenge .
Gear
Belt:
Gloves:
Boots : rares with ctc Firedance on level up ->
Helm :
Armor: the unique droped by Griswold (flat stats , hp and all resistances) ->
Weapon:
Shield : rare ->
Rings: some good rares with %spell damage or/and -%enemy fire resist
Amulet: a good rare with +to all skills and %spell damage
Sockets: perfect gems for smaxing resistances , p.rubies/p.sapphires in weapon (life or mana after kill , according to your needs)
On switch :
Gameplay and leveling up to level 80
-> buff your character with Vindicate for extra HP regen
-> start by putting points into both of the vessels and keep them active all the time -> proceed at doing the Den of Evil quest and then kill Blood Raven for having some extra killspeed help from the mercenary rewarded to you by Kashya .
-> kill Griswold and equip the TU armor he drops
-> kill The Smith to get the Catalyst of Disenchantment needed to transform the useless uniques you find into arcane shards
-> after you got to level 18 , make sure to always keep Demiurge on
-> once you killed Andariel , you will go back and kill it a few times more until you get 2 arcane Crystals needed to create the
-> Equip the TU Bonebreaker and proceed further to act 2 Sewers by using Apocalypse as main attack
Q: So what does Apocalypse do ?
A: Click here : It deals decent Fire damage to all enemies in it's area of effect (around you) . it covers about half the screen
-> Go trough the regular game and kill all foes you encounter . The experience gained is good , there is no need to rush or farm any particular spots for experience . The progression is going smooth .
-> replace your act 1 merc with a Bloodmage once you got to act 3 : equip him with
-> once you have killed Mephisto , go back and kill him a few times more until you update your gear to the highest tier you can wear (make sure to read the docs before you uptier, in order to avoid situations like not being able to equip the gear due to the level requirements being higher than your character level)
-> proceed trough the game up to act 5 Throne of Destruction using Apocalypse as main attack , with both the Vessels , Demiurge and Vindicate always on
-> once you killed the Infernal Contraption , the portal to Tran Athula will be opened (the minimum level required to enter the portal is 45)
The Level Challenge
Video for the level Challenge here !
-> enter the portal to Tran Athula , keep the buffs on and use Apocalypse as main attack
-> the amazons are hitting hard , so you should avoid getting hit . Always stay behind your reanimates army when spamming your Apocalypse , as they will provide all the meatshield you need . The merc will also do his job
-> kill the 3 amazon priestesses (of Fire/Cold/Lightning) and collect their shards . Cube the 3 shards and gain the Sunstone of the Twin Seas
-> cube the Sunstone with the scroll you got from Malah after you have rescued Anya for 10% elemental resist
-> kill the Normal Baal and proceed to Nightmare
-> make sure your resistances are maxed (you gain 50 elmental resistances penalty on Nightmare)
-> proceed trough the game and do the standard quests up until the end of act 3 Nightmare . Again , the progress is going smooth , no need for rushing .
The Ennead Challenge
The Ennead Challenge video (first attempt in Sigma)
-> after you have killed Mephisto on Nightmare difficulty , the portal to K3KBA will be opened -> the minimum level required to enter the portal is 80
-> kill the skeletons on your way , as they provide some decent experience to help you leveling , they may drop sacred items , shrines and runes up to ON
-> the skeletons are not hitting very hard , but you should avoid fighting big packs without having some reanimates in front of you as meatshield
-> kill any of the Necromancers and take the Torch they drop . Cube the torch and your class charm will be created from it .
-> place the charm into your inventory -> you can now access Divine Apparition
The Mid game
Stats alocation :
Strength : 0 - see the Demiurge description above
Dexterity : 0 - see the Demiurge description above
Vitality : 0
Energy: the rest (more spell damage , more mana pool)
Skillplan between level 80 and 115
max VoR , VoJ , Demiurge , Life&Death , Solstice%Equinox , 6 points into Rapture , 1-pointers : Euphoria , Scourges , Hoplites ,Divine Apparition and Ressurect , all leftovers go to Sacred Armor (you can almost max it)
Gear
Belt: Fascinating craft : may spawn with up to +2 paladin skills and up to 30 LaeK
Gloves: Fascinating craft rolled with Disintegrate oskill, may spawn with up to +2 paladin skills
Boots : Eerie craft rolled with Apocalypse oskill (may spawn with up to +21 points for Apocalypse and between 15% and 40% increased movement speed)
Helm :
Armor: Eerie craft : may spawn with +2 to all skills , up to 500 flat life
Weapon :
Shield :
Rings: some good rares with 1 all skills and %spell damage
Amulet:
Sockets: 3 p.rubies for the scepter (30 hp after each kill), p.gems for maxing the resistances inside the armors/ Zod crafted jewels
Gameplay and leveling from level 80 to 115
- always keep the buffs on : Vindicate, VoJ , VoR , Rapture, Demiurge and Sacred Armor -> use Divine Aparition to stay away from dangerous places
- use Apocalypse as main attack , Disintegrate vs bosses/strong single targets
Q: So what does Disintegrate do ?
A: Click here: it deals heavy physical and Magical damage in a short AoE around you . The spell also multihits , but it has a timer . More points into the skill = lower timer . it has around 5 seconds timer at this point of the game and about 70k total damage/blast
-> do some K3KBA runs in order to find the necessary sacred gear parts and the shrines to update your gear to the crafts above . If you have found the base items , but unfortunately they are not Rares , use the Charsi quest to imbue and get the rare item you need for crafting .
-> start by updating the boots -> more points into Apocalypse = more damage
-> continue with the gloves in order to access Disintegrate
-> after replacing the boots and gloves , proceed trough the regular game by killing all foes on your way
-> cube the Scroll you get from Malah in act 5 with your Sunstone for 10% more elemental resist
The ubers with req. level 105
-> once you got to act 1 Hell , your goal is to do the quests on your way to Tamoe Highland , and once you got there , go to The Pit level 2 and kill the Infernal Machine -> get the Optical detector charm
-> proceed to act 2
-> after you Kill Randamet , you may exit the town .
-> go to the Stony tomb level 2 , kill Gheed's Mentor and the portal to IOTSS will be opened. Minimum level required to enter the portal : 105
-> enter the IOTSS and kill all those inside . The main bosses (the 6 Sunless angels) are hitting hard , so try not to be the one who is tanking them .
-> use Ressurect to get 3 extra tanks besides your reanimates (you can ressurect Nightmare)
-> kill the 6 angels (each of them drops a bag) and the other opponents . This is the best place for farming gold , so you might want to go back there once in a while
-> cube the 6 angel bags , then cube the Six Angel Bag charm with the Sunless Crystal Bird (has 1/6 chance to drop from any of the 6 angels)
-> after your pockets are full of gold , proceed to act 3 and go to the Swampy pit level 3 ( Proving Grounds) to kill the Death Projector .
-> the opponents (the Mechanics) are dealing some important damage , so your first goal here is to lure them into the top right or top left rooms , blink over the fence so that they are left behind.
-> only keep 1 Mechanic near you so that he removes the imunities of the Death Projector and in the same time to ignore his attacks (you can tank 1 of them with no problem)
-> the Death Projector's damage Beam (the Death Ray no longer insta kills) is moving clockwise , so you should always move along with it and avoid getting hit by it . A few Disintegrates will get the job done fast .
-> try not to get killed , as if you die after 30 seconds , the access to the Providing Grounds will be locked , and you wil have to save&exit and start doing this uberquest again .
-> get the Laser Focus Crystal in your stash and go back to act 1 for the Butcher
-> there is a house in fire on the left side of Tristram . Inside the flames you will see the portal for entering the Butcher's Lair
-> get 3 revenants (get 3 grubbers or something stronger ) and the summons out for them to do the tanking - this guy has a heavy blow , so it's not wise to stay and fight him face to face
-> let the summons tank and use Disintegrate / Spam Apocalypse on him (resummon the army if necessary) . he is not moving very fast , so you can just run in a circle while your vessels are damaging him
-> get the Butcher's Tooth and go back to where you left in act 3 .
-> proceed trough the game and get to act 5 Hell .
-> cube the Scroll you get from Malah in act 5 with your Sunstone for 10% more elemental resist
-> take the portal to Nihlathak , kill him and get signets of Learning - now cap'ed at 400 max extra signets
The ubers with req. level 110
-> go to the entrance of the lower Kurast and kill the Vizier . He will open the portal to Caldeum
-> head to the right side of the Caldeum and enter the portal of the Dimensional Sanctum
-> The Creature of Flame's attacks no longer 1-shot you , so this is easier than before . Kill it and get the Horazon's Focus charm
-> Go to act 2 Tal Rasha's tomb and kill Zoltun Kulle -> a portal to Canyon of the Magi will be opened
-> enter the portal , kill all the Horadric Mages first in order to remove Tal Rasha's imunities (don't stay too much in one spot in order to avoid the incoming spells)
-> kill Tal Rasha and take the Scroll of kings
-> go to act 3 town and enter the portal to the Torajan Jungles found on bottom right of the town
-> kill all the opponents that get in your way as they may drop signets of gold , signets of learning and also provide a decent experience boost
-> head to the top (north) side of the map to find and kill Jitan
-> once you have encountered his first Rakkis Guardsmen , kill 3 and ressurect them to fight for your side. They will provide a heavy tanking boost and all you will need to do is spam your Apocalypse from the safe area behind them , making this a very easy job
-> Kill Jitan and take his Moon of the Spider charm
-> continue your way trough the Jungle and head to the north-west side of the map and search for Akarat . Keep the ressurected Rakkis on your way
-> Akarat can only be damaged if you kill one of his followers and the nova casted on death by the follower is hitting Akarat; each Follower killed will remove his imunities for a few seconds , so it would be ideal to try and not kill too many of them at a time in order to have Akarat's imunities down for as long as you can . He is hitting quite hard and may also cast inner fire to heal himself , so you should hit him with all you got in order to have the fight finished fast . If however you don't manage to kill him and there are no followers left to remove his imunities , you can force him to come after you along the map , as there are other followers all over the jungle among the other types of enemies . Get Akarat close to the followers and continue the work for killing him and get the Vision of Akarat charm
-> King Koth is not yet doable as your defense is still low and the damage is not enough to compensate that . you will do it at level 117 when you can replace Apocalypse with Brimstone
Q: How can i enter the Cow level ? Wirt's leg is no longer in Tristram? wtf ?
A: you will find the leg in act 1 Catacombs level 4 ( the left side of Andariel's chamber ) . cube the leg and the portal to Cow level will be opened (you are no longer restricted to open the portal in act 1 , you can do it in any other act if you wish ) . Farm it until you hit level 115 as the experience gain is very nice .
Skillplan between level 115 and 125
max VoJ , Demiurge , Sacred Armor , Life&Death , Blessed Life , 6 points into Rapture , 1-pointers : VoR , Euphoria , Solstice%Equinox , Scourges , Hoplites , Divine Apparition and Ressurect
Gear
Belt: Fascinating craft : may spawn with up to +2 paladin skills and up to 30 LaeK
Gloves: Fascinating craft
Boots : put the
Helm : Eerie craftd paladin only helm with Brimstone oskill (may spawn up to +24 , requires level 117 ) - it may also spawn with up to +5 paladin skills
Armor: Eerie craft : may spawn with +2 to all skills , up to 500 flat life
Weapon : Eerie crafted scepter with Brimstone oskill (may spawn up to +24 , requires level 117 ) - it may also spawn with up to +5 paladin skills
Shield : Fascinating crafted paladin only shield : may spawn with up to +5 paladin skills and up to 500 flat life + Bear Stance oskill
Rings: some good rares with 1 all skills and %spell damage
Amulet:
Sockets: 6 p.rubies for the scepter (60 hp after each kill), p.gems for maxing the resistances inside the armors/ Zod crafted jewels
Gameplay and leveling from level 115 to 125
-> replace the Bloodmage merc with a Barbarian Merc . Equip him with a pair of (creepy) crafted gloves with ctc Stormblast on attack ,
The ubers with req. level 115
-> go to the left side of Andariel's room , take Wirt's leg , go back to town and open the portal to the Cow Level , kill all cows. Kill the Cow king as it drops Wirt's other leg needed to open the portal to Bull Prince Rodeo . Kill him and take his Fool's gold . BPR/Cow level video here
-> rerun the Cow Level a few times until you get to level 117 -> replace your helm and weapon with the Brimstone setup
-> get the Buffs active and use Brimstone as main attack - it can only be used from right click
Q: so what does Brimstone do ?
A: it places a seed that explodes (after a very short while) in a medium ranged aoe dealing decent fire damage , around 8-10k damage/ second at character level 115 , each seed last 5 seconds , meaning that each seed does around 50k fire damage , making it a good boss killer from a safe distance .
Q: what about Bear Stance ?
A: if you ever played a Barbarian , you already know what it does . If you haven't : it's a passive skill that you must keep on right click -> while accessed as an oskill , it provides 20% physical resistance and a %TCD boost (this one increases by both the hard and the soft points -> more +to all skills = more %TCD) , also ignoring the physical resistance of the undead . It will only ever need it in 2 or 3 spots where you get hit very hard and you need more defense for a lower chance to be hit (see Ureh or Bremmtown as example ) , so for the moment it's not a "must have" .
The Black Road Challenge - video -
-> go to the botom left side of act 1 town and look for Warriv . In the carriage close to him you will find the entrance to Bramwell .
-> enter the portal and start killing the Posessed Cultists that come in your way . Their hits are annoying so you should try to avoid them . Get 3 ressurects for better tanking . Enter the Church of Dien-Ap-Sten and proceed to the top left side where you will find Buyard .
-> Buyard can only be damaged while he stands in the circle of fire inside his room , but beware of his attacks . Keep a constant moving and dodge the incoming damage
-> Kill Buyard Cholik and get the Black road charm in your inventory for accessing Blessed life . try to do it as fast as you can as it tends to be quite a laggy fight as you may see in the video.
-> now that the BRC is done and you now have a decent physical damage reduction , you may proceed to the other ubers
-> go to the Torajan Jungles and head north to find the entrance to K3KBA , killing all foes on your way
-> the uber is quite easy as long as you stand behind your army of reanimates - easy farmable
-> kill any Necromancer inside k3kba as they all got 1/3 chance to drop the Hammer of the Taan judges
*This place has an increased set drop bias
-> go to act 4 Planes of Despair , kill Izual and enter the portal to the High Heavens .
-> enter the Diamond Gates and head top to the Silver City -> enter the Library of Fate .
-> inside the Library , the fight is similar to the one you have experienced with Akarat . You need to kill Ethereals in order to damage the Avatars . In case there are no more Ethereals around and the avatar is not killed yet , you can lure more avatars from the other rooms to come close . Kill them and proceed at damaging the avatar .
-> my first attempt there was at 115 by using Apocalypse and it was quite slow - video here -. The Brimstone setup gets this job done 3 times faster .
-> Kill any of the Avatars as they have 1/6 chance to drop the Zakarum's ear
-> Go to the Halls of the Dead level 3 , look for the chest room on the minimap as there you will find Kethryes . Kill her as she will open the portal to Tran Athula - Another easy farmable spot - video here -
-> kill the amazons on your way and head for the 3 Priestesses . The uber is similar to the level challenge : you need to kill each of the priestesses as each of them is dropping a sunstone . Cube all 3 sunstones to create the Sunstone of the Gods .
-> go to act 3 town and enter the Torajan Jungles -> head for the south east area and search for the entrance to the Chamber of Blood .
-> get 3 fat ressurects , have the merc around and summon the 1-pointer summons
-> enter the chamber and spam Brimstone -> Kill Bartuc and take the Legacy of Blood in your inventory
-> go to act 4 Chaos Sanctuary -> Kill Ghom -> Take the Key that he drops -> open the portal to the Realm of Sin
-> kill the opponents on your way to Azmodan -> Kill Azmodan and take his Heart
-> go to act 3 lower Kurast -> kill the Vizier at the entrance as he will open the portal to Caldeum
-> get 3 fat ressurects and go for the Rathma's Square .
-> the enemies here (Gore Crawlers) are hitting hard + they get ressurected after a few seconds . The strategy here is to move towards Primus as fast as you can and don't stay too much in one spot as the Crawlers will come and get you (use Divine Apparition if necessary ) - when you are very close to Primus , you may open a town portal for just in case you get raped and you need to return asap .
-> spam your Brimstone and kill him -> take the Spirit Trance Herb in your inventory
-> you are now strong enough to go to act 5 and kill the Ancients -> activate the Waypoint to Worldstone Keep level 2 (you will need it later)
-> kill Narthal on Mount Arreat as he will open the portal to King Koth -> enter the portal and keep moving while you spam Brimstone
-> Kill Koth and take the Sacred Worldstone Key in your inventory
-> go to the Library of Faith and enter the portal to the Cathedral of Vanity (try not to die - it has a timer lock)
-> wait at the entrance for the Beams of the Crystal Ball to finish hitting (stay behind one of the 3 Pilars to avoid getting hit by it )
-> after the beam is no longer shooting you may proceed and spam a few Brimstones on the Crystal ball - keep moving until it's dead
-> after you take it down you can kill the rest of those inside , including Inarius - he will drop the Idol of Vanity
-> go and farm Tran Athula a few times until you get to level 120 . Maby you will be lucky enough to find some decent SU's - The trophy is also good to aim for (5% physical resist) , i've found it 6 times until 120 .
The ubers with req. level 120
-> Enter Tran Athula and head to the island of Skartara . Use one of the Askari Call scrolls you have found in your TA leveling runs (dropped by the priestesses) to summon Athulua in the center . She deals heavy damage , which means you cannot just stay and fight her face to face until she dies . You need to take a different strategy : plant Brimmstones under her feet and run (in circle) while your vessel is damaging her . Kill her and take the Weather control charm in your inventory
-> go to act 3 lower Kurast -> kill the Vizier at the entrance as he will open the portal to Caldeum
-> head for the Vizjerei Temple and get ready to kill Quov Tsin and take his Silver Seal or Ureh : this uber is still a gear check , you need smaxed resistances - (close to) 90% - and 150 flat damage reduction to feel almost no pain there . With the current gear setup you won't have 90% elemental resist , but you can go for some elemental absorb to compensate (
-> go to the Torajan Jungles and head for Teganze . This is the place for farming elemental runestones and essences , but for the moment we only need a few essences after you kill Terul to upgrade the Umbaru Treasure for flat stats .
-> clear the area of the Umbaru spirits and Goliaths first . Terul is not a very fast moving opponent , but he does pack a heavy hit so don't stay to fight him face to face . You may bring 3 ressurected Rakkis Guardsmen to do the tanking , or you can just hit and run until he dies . Either way , the task is easy .
-> go to act 1 and enter Bramwell (entrance near Warriv) , head for the top right side of the map and go inside the Subterranean Corridor -> kill the Slain Souls and Possessed Cultists on your way to Duncraig . Kill the Slain souls and Necromorbs inside Duncraig and hope for some usefull SU's/SSU's to drop . Any of them may also drop the Ring of the Five which you will need to cube with the 5 seals dropped by Skinrender, Spinecracker, Eyegouger, Fleshcutter and Bonehexer in order to create Assur's Bane ring which grants Purify , oskill needed to kill Assur (he is immune to the other types of damage) . ( - map here - )
-> Assur deals heavy fire damage , but lucky for you there will be enough reanimated Seraphs around to distract him from attacking you . Purify him until he dies and take the Demonsbane in your inventory .
-> this Rift is one of the best farming spots for SU's/SSU's and it also provide some decent experience gain - it will be our main farming spot
-> the exploding barrels will not kill you if you got the buffs on , but they will get you to low Hp , therefore you should try to avoid them when you see them thrown at your feet -> use DA to get away from them
-> go to Caldeum and enter Rhatma's Square -> kill Primus as he will open the portal to the Triune
-> Your main task here besides collecting Cycles is to kill Lucion . In order to do that , you first need to kill Duram and get your hands on the Tome of possession as it provides Charm oskill that you must use to cast over Lucion -> that way Malic's attacks will damage Lucion as long as the Charm effect is on .
-> in the first part of the fight , Lucion will be moving slow , but once you get him below half HP he will move faster , making it easier to lure close to Malic , but at the same time it can also mean more danger for you as his spell will be harder to dodge .
-> the uber is mostly about dodging hits and good timing on using Charm , getting killed than come back to continue from where you left . Besides this annoying thing , the uberquest is not quite hard . Get Lucion killed and take the Corrupted Wormhole in your stash -> Cube Cycles with it (less inventory space wasted) . Keep an eye out for the Golden Cicle as it has a minor chance to drop by killing your enemies .
-> try not to tank the Primal Clais as their hits are heavy and they are using Shower of Rocks attacks . Let your summons tank while you are dealing damage from behind them . Also be aware of the Temple Spires as they are absorbing fire damage and cast Meteor shower if you get close - destroy them from a safe distance and use DA to get away when the Meteor Shower starts as you can easy get killed in 1 or 2 hits even with smaxed fire resist and all the buffs on .
-> go to act 4 Planes of Despair , kill Izual and enter the portal to the High Heavens .
-> enter the Diamond Gates and head top to the Silver City -> enter the Silver Sphere 1 and 2 . At the end of Silver Sphere 2 you will find the entrance to the Crystal Arch . Inside the Crystal Arch we have 2 portals close to each other , one of them leading to Malthael , one to Imperius .
-> the first part of this Judgment day uberquest is to enter any one of the two portals and kill either Malthael or Imperius as they will drop the Crystaline Flame Medalion . You will need to get your summons out and 3 ressurects for extra meatshield to distract your opponents while you are dealing damage . This is actualy the tricky part , as your meatshield will die quite fast and your damage is not very high to get the job done quick so you will need fast fingers to ressumon the army - try not to get killed in this process , as the portal has a 30 seconds timer , therefore if you get killed after 30 seconds you need to start over , either by entering the other portal , or save&exit and try again .
-> the second part of this quest is to kill both Malthael and Imperius in 60 seconds and transmute the Medallion for added bonusses . It will be easier to stay safe , as now you can summon Edyrems to do the tanking instead of your regular summons , which will perform a lot better and you won't need to resummon them that often , therefore you can just focus on dealing damage . The tricky part is getting the job done in 60 seconds with the mid game gear which requires maby 2 or 3 attempts in order to understand how it all goes . You need to start damaging as soon as possible , as your damage is not very high and the time is short . i've done it in 57 seconds in the third attempt .
-> go to act 1 and enter Bramwell . There you must kill Buyard Cholik as that will open the portal to The Path to Enlightenment
-> kill the skeletons (Shadow Self) on your way and destroy the Pillar of Skulls in the middle by casting Brimmstones on it from a safe distance
-> once the Pillar is destroyed , Kabraxis will be summoned along with an army of skeletons . His spells are hitting hard , so the strategy is to run (in a circle / Zig-Zag ) while the vessel is auto-shooting , also positioning some Brimsmtones in his path (to step over them) . At this point , using just the mid game gear , your vessel is dealing between 10 and 12k damage depending on how good are your crafts , while Brimstone also sits around 12k -14k damage per second which will make the fight last between 20 and 30 minutes .
-> do not bring any meatshield to this fight (not even the merc) because Kabarxis heals every time he kills something (including you) by 7,5% and that will actually be working against you .
-> Kill Kabraxis and take his Soul into your inventory
*Take note that if you get killed , you will respawn in act4 , so you will need to travel back to act 1 to continue the fight .
-> inside the Vizjerei Temple you will also find the entrance to Ureh (beware of the timer!) -> in those lands (kingdom) of shadow you will face untargetable enemies that are packing heavy physical damage hits (also carrying poison damage) , Rogues and Punisher turrets that will lower your hp very fast even at maxed poison resist (lucky for us we got SA , Vindicate and heal pots ). The main strategy here is to run like mad , avoiding to get hit/swarmed by the enemies (zig-zag run) and use Divine Apparition to jump over walls until you get to the narrow corridor leading to Juris Khan ( map here - i always use the path marked in red )
-> on this corridor you will face the same enemies , but they will be harder to dodge . Get some summons out and use Divine Apparition to advance/jump over packs of enemies . The summons will be the ones taking the first hits , which will provide enough distraction for you to proceed further without being in much danger
-> once you got to Juris Khan , you need to let the Vessels kill him , as your Brimstone will not work against him (he is fire and cold immune), so this is the tricky part here , as there will be citizens swarming around -> you will need to make use of the hit and teleport strategy : get close enough for the vessels to hit -> keep moving to avoid hits -> use DA to park the citizens at a bigger distance -> continue until Juris Khan dies . The Disintegrate oskill from the gloves will come in handy here to put it under Juris Khan's feet once every few seconds .
-> the Bear stance oskill will be nice to have on in order to get a lower chance to be hit .
*I have gave marked this uber with the "yellow" mark , as in "medium difficulty" because i've done it hundreds of times over the years and i don't feel so much pain doing it with crap gear, but this should actually be marked in Red for low experienced players as it requires a lot of attempts until the job is done even with BiS gear .
-> you got all the above charms ? Good . Now you must do some Duncraig runs until you hit level to 125 and get some better gear for the next part of the game . You gain 1 level up after about 5-6 full runs depending on how much %experience gain you got or how many players there are in game

Q: What does Pyroblast do ?
A: If you have ever played a sorceress , you already know . if not : it's spell that throws a fire boulder that explodes on impact , which covers a medium aoe - somewhat similar to Brimstone.
Gameplay and leveling from level 125 and beyond
- always keep the buffs on : Vindicate, VoJ, Rapture, Demiurge , Sacred Armor + Bloodlust from switch gear -> use Divine Aparition to stay away from dangerous places
- use Pyroblast as main attack
- upgrade your merc's gear too -> the most important gear part you can give him is the
The ubers with req. level 125
-> go to act 1 and enter Bramwell . There you must kill Buyard Cholik as that will open the portal to The Path to Enlightenment
-> you don't need to kill Kabraxis again , so leave the Pillar alone . You don't need extra trouble .
-> just jump over the wall and kill the Seals -> the 5 Spirits -> Each of the 5 spirits will drop a gem -> They can only be killed by their own element , so :
-> The Seal of Frost (first seal on the left ) -> Spirit of Frost : requires Cold damage to be destroyed -> get an amulet with Hailstorm oskill or any other source of cold spell you can find (Winter Avatar is also very easy to access from TU Addertongue / Deathgaze from TU Brainhack)
-> The Seal of Hell(the second seal on the left) > Spirit of Hell : requires Fire damage to be destroyed -> use Pyroblast to destroy it
-> The Seal of Wizardy (the seal on the top) -> Spirit of Wizardy : requires Magic damage to be destroyed -> use Exorcism / Disintegrate /Magic Missiles or any other source of dealing magic damage to destroy it
-> The Seal of Stone (the second seal on the right) -> Spirit of Stone : requires physical damage to be destroyed -> our Vessel will do the job (beware of the multi-hitting physical damage spells casted by this Spirit , try to dodge them as much as possible) -> run in circle around the Spirit so that you are dodging his attacks while VoJ is damaging him
-> The Seal of Electrum (the first seal on the right) -> Spirit of Electrum : requires Lightning damage to be destroyed -> you can access Flash oskill very easy , Supernova , Stormcall or any other lightning spell to destroy it
-> Cube the 5 gems with your Black Road Charm -> go to Act 5 and cube your Black Road Charm with any rune -> you will obtain the scroll to open the rift to Fauztinville . The quest is very nice , but once your charm is upgraded , you won't need to go trough the above steps ever again
->Despite going trough so much trouble just to gain access to Fauztinville , the difficulty of this uber is comparable to the one of Duncraig , so it's a piece of cake for us . Yet another easy farmable spot -> with some luck , you might find some Great runes and SSSU's inside (area level 130 ) . It also has a high jewel drop bias + nice experience gain due to high numbers and density of the opponents . You gain 1 level up per 3 full clears .
-> in the top right corner of Fauztinville you will find the entrance to Bremmtown . The map has a lot of Howling spirits packs that will jump on top of you/your merc/your reanimates as you advance -> They are not dealing very high damage , not more than what you've felt in Fauztinville , but when they are all on top of you they can be dangerous , therefore you need to take them down as fast as you can -> make sure to activate the 1-pointer Vessel of Retribution , because even if the LCS shows about one third of the damage of the smaxed VoJ , it hits twice as fast/second + this is one of the very few spots where it's actually useful , as almost all the time the enemies are in it's AoE (jumping on top of you) . Combine this with one or two Pyroblasts for every new pack you need to kill , and the progress will be smooth even at about 10k hp and around 80k defense (around 50% chance to be hit by the Howling spirits) -> the job will be done much faster than you think , there's no need for any build or gear adjustment (it can be done quite easy without the SSU Angiris Star )
-> the first part of the quest is killing the Dragon that is found in the bottom-mid side of the map as he will drop a claw -> Map here <- take any of the 3 paths marked with red , i usually take the one on the edge of the map .
-> the second part of the quest is killing the Dragon in less than 2 minutes since you entered that spot and cube the claw for added bonusses while the swirls are still on-> the timer starts when the statue at the entrance falls apart .
-> the experience gain and drops quality is also decent , so you can full clear this place every time you go for a Fauztinville clear . The experience gained from a full Fauztinville+Bremmtown wipe grants about half a level up , so you will want to come back for a few more times around here
-> go to act 3 and enter the Torajan Jungles -> head to the top right side of the map to find the entrance to the Torajan Cemetery
-> summon the 10 Edyrems and enter Toraja -> keep them alive all the time (resummon after they die)
-> your enemies are immune to all damage before your edyrems hit them , so you will need to keep the Edyrems around wherever you go (use DA to jump form spot to spot , as that way the Edyrems will jump along with you - their AI is stupid and won't follow)
-> don't fight too many opponents at a time as they hit hard . Advance slowly until you get to Lilith -> Kill her and take the Lilia's curse in your inventory
-> the drops and experience gain are similar to those of Fauztinville (besides the jewel drop bias) and with some luck you might find some Great runes
-> another drop to hope for is the Edyrem's Time Travel scroll that you may use to open a portal straight to Toraja and avoid wasting time running trough the jungles to get there
-> go to the Proving Grounds and enter Vizjun (the portal is in the top left side of the map)
-> spam Pyroblast on all directions where you see enemies and advance as you kill them.
-> do not stay to much time in one spot as the opponents will respawn and may swarm you
-> head to the bottom side of the map as there you will find the MCS -> you need to use Purify to destroy it , as it is immune to the other types of damage
-> try not to get killed in the process as you will need to restart the quest - timer lock
-> go to act 4 Chaos Sanctuary and kill Maghda as it will drop the Key of Lies -> use the Key to open the portal to the Realm of Lies
-> clear your way trough the map until you get to Belial -> spam your Pyroblast until he dies and take the Book of lies in your inventory . The fight is totally different from what we were used to have in the patches before Sigma . He now uses different spells and attacks , the most annoying thing is that he is replicating and healing himself , making it hard to know exactly which one is really him, therefore you need to wipe all of them . Tanking his spells is not such a problem as you got tons of regen , you just need to stay focused on the fight and drink a heal pot if/when it's needed - try not to die as you will have to restart the challenge - timer lock
To be continued
Getting started
Choosing the neutral way , you can no longer access any of the offensive skills from the holy/unholy trees , therefore your main goal in the early levels is to get your hands an elemental oskill as soon as you can , because your vessels alone are not enough to get the job done fast enough

A: not from the beginning , but we will use it a bit later . We don't have enough skill points to make it worth in the early levels , as we will also need points in Rapture too in order to move at a decent speed (SA has a penalty for that) , points that we will start to have just around the level challenge .

Enyo
is good enough (+1 all skills , reanimates) -> once you have killed Mephisto , go back and kill him a few times more until you update your gear to the highest tier you can wear (make sure to read the docs before you uptier, in order to avoid situations like not being able to equip the gear due to the level requirements being higher than your character level)

-> proceed to act 2

With the current gear setup you won't have 90% elemental resist , but you can go for some elemental absorb to compensate (
Shadowmoon
is easy to access and can replace your crafted shield for this uber) . Shadowmoon

- upgrade your merc's gear too -> the most important gear part you can give him is the
Khazra Plate
-> the Demon Blood aura on it will boost your HP (re-equip it on your merc after every save&exit) - but it's not something mandatory . It's up to you to decide what you want to gear him with , as many combos are working fine . i wend for a lightning eyecandy build (not the most efficient combo you can get, but good enough) and gave him to use a crafted pair of gloves with ctc Stormblast on attack + a crafted belt with ctc Disintegrate on attack , Khazra Plate
