Just Curious about something When everyone is talking about "Flat DR" -- how to get that? Is that the physical damage reduction you can get with the MO's or am I just missing something?

Yes, Flat DR refers to Physical Damage reduced by ##. You can get them from the top most MOs at the MO Vendors.

Just a number, if it was a percentage it would instead say "Physical Resist +#%

Steel Punisher.

Shark will have the edge on raw damage, but Steel Punisher is far more versatile (native DS, Phys Res, and LL, more MO space, and usable sockets).

They're not. They're only meant to be used as cheap distractions.

Agreed here, and how would you rate Brocken in all of that?

Steel Punisher is still the best choice, but between Shark and Brocken:

Shark (Xis)
= offensive choice (higher damage, Bloodlust proc, native IAS)
Brocken (Xis)
= defensive choice (+Sorc Skills, TCD, summon+reanimates for distractions)

I've been farming Teganze the last few days to make Xis Runes so I can test them both. Got the Runes and good base weapons made. Just need to craft some good jewels. Will post more info after testing.
