Thanks for response, for #2, it seems if I put points into life and death it disables the bonus from S&E. Is this just a display bug?

No, it means that if you equip the shield, your Life and Death passive will have no influence on VoJ. S&E with 0 hard points will be your passive instead (with damage bonus) while the max targets bonus from L&D is lost, even if you put max hard points in there.

If I upgrade a unique from say (1) to (2) how many levels does it add on to the requirement? Is it a linear +10 or so per arcane crystal?

Usually it's about +8-10 lev req. When you start LC1, all TUs can be maximum of Tier5 (a few of Tier4).

When I uptier a unique, what will happen to the orbs and socket fillers?

They get wiped. It the same for non-unique, because the item is considered rerolled.

You can get your socketables back with an oil of disjunction though.

and full amazon set on a bloodzon- my hp stops degenerate and starts regenerate. But if i unequip even one piece of set - it degenerates again. Why is that? Is it ok or it's some kind of a bug?
