For the alternate spec , u dont need to smax snow queen - only 25 points because after 25points u dont get max hp bonus. also nn to put all remaining points into frigid sphere. u can put the rest into tempest.

I've only ever used the alt spec for certain boss fights, so I've never paid much attention to Tempest. I just put leftovers into Frigid Sphere to increase Ice Elementals' life (I have poor character control and need decent meatshields to help keep me alive  ) Also, I didn't know about the hp cap on Snow Queen. :-o

Thanks for the tips. I'll make adjustments accordingly.

Damn! I thought there is a ceiling above the poor avatar bearing the weight of the room here.

But anyway, great job with the very comprehensive guide Solfege, really helpful with hints and tips.

I tried a melee sorc on single player before and I got stuck with finding the
Starhawk
Starhawk
Warp Blade (Sacred)

One-Hand Damage: 49 to 86
(Sorceress Only)
Required Level: 100
Required Dexterity: 400
Item Level: 105
Dexterity Damage Bonus: (0.13 per Dexterity)%
Innate Tri-Elemental Damage:
(45.0% of Dexterity)
Area Effect Attack
25% Chance to cast level 50 Magic Missiles on Melee Attack
+(3 to 5) to Sorceress Skill Levels
50% Attack Speed
Adds 400-500 Magic Damage
-(25 to 35)% to Enemy Elemental Resistances
10% Chance to Avoid Damage
Socketed (6)
. I tried various crafted warpblade but it seems none of them would work. I got into a dilemma that "In order to get Starhawk, and it is really rare, you need to farm Duncgraid, but I don't have Starhawk, how can farm Duncgraid in the first place?" It was like melee sorc = starhawk to me. Do you have any recommendations?

You can try
Worldstone Shard
as a cheaper (usually) option.

Some RW's that are possible:
Gehenna

Gehenna
Weapons

'ChamOhmLo'
Runeword Level: 83
20% Chance to cast level 32 Frozen Crown on Melee Attack
15% Block Speed
15% Hit Recovery

Adds 150-200 Poison Damage over 1 seconds
+(144 to 171)% Enhanced Damage
+25% to Cold Spell Damage
-25% to Enemy Cold Resistance
+25% to Poison Spell Damage
-25% to Enemy Poison Resistance
Maximum Life +5%
Maximum Mana +(23 to 28)%
Requirements -33%
or
Dark Exile
in sacred warp blades

Yeah, crafted Warp Blades aren't really worth it, IMO, because there's no access to good on-attack and/or on-striking procs.

Gear-wise,
Gehenna

Gehenna

and
Hellfire Plate

Hellfire Plate
Body Armors

'IgnJahGurRhal'
Runeword Level: 115
+1% Innate Elemental Damage per 250 Strength and Dexterity
15% Chance to cast level 9 Life Spark on Melee Attack
20% Attack Speed
+250 Fire Damage
-(11 to 15)% to Enemy Elemental Resistances
+(171 to 200)% Enhanced Defense
Maximum Life +(3 to 5)%
Maximum Elemental Resists +(1 to 2)%
Fire Resist +(10 to 20)%
Lightning Resist +(10 to 20)%
Cold Resist +(10 to 20)%
Poison Resist +(10 to 20)%
Physical Resist (7 to 10)%
are generally good enough for early Dunc farming, but an A5 merc with max Magic res gear can help. He's not smart enough to dodge barrels, though, so even with max Magic res, he'll likely need to be revived often.

Strat-wise, use summons to keep mobs distracted and as far to the edge of the screen as possible so enemies can be dealt with one or two at a time--and since Blade Spirits are Magic immune, they can tank barrels without issue.

Spec-wise,
*For Fire: have one Firedance up in an open area and keep drawing enemies into it a few at a time rather than chasing them down and casting a new Firedance in each new location. This way, Whirlpool can be used more often, without worrying about it being locked out at a critical moment b/c of cross-skill timers.
*For Lightning: Whirlpool+Bladestorm--all day, erry day. Also, diverting extra skill points into Blade Spirits will beef them up a bit.
*For Poison: spam enemies with Miasma to slow, hit them with Whirlpool, then finish them off with Bladestorm.

You know what? I've changed my mind. Using
Khany
and
Hellfire Plate

Hellfire Plate
Body Armors

'IgnJahGurRhal'
Runeword Level: 115
+1% Innate Elemental Damage per 250 Strength and Dexterity
15% Chance to cast level 9 Life Spark on Melee Attack
20% Attack Speed
+250 Fire Damage
-(11 to 15)% to Enemy Elemental Resistances
+(171 to 200)% Enhanced Defense
Maximum Life +(3 to 5)%
Maximum Elemental Resists +(1 to 2)%
Fire Resist +(10 to 20)%
Lightning Resist +(10 to 20)%
Cold Resist +(10 to 20)%
Poison Resist +(10 to 20)%
Physical Resist (7 to 10)%
with a Poison/Fire spec is the way to go. Miasma-->Thunderslam-->Bladestorm. Rinse and repeat.

Edit 1:
Edited comment for brevity+clarity.

Edit 2:
I reworked the end-game section so hopefully it's a bit easier for the player. Thanks for the advice Brackans.

Finally got desktop recording software working properly, so gonna be making some tutorial videos. Will post them in the "Gameplay Tips" section of this guide (Toraja farming tutorial already up). Hopefully, videos will be more effective in demonstrating how to do certain things with a Melee Sorc.

Also, nn for endless replies about how I'm a suck player ty, I already know.

Edit: I've never made videos before, so if anyone has suggestions on how to make them better, please share.

Are you considering Deadmans hand and rockslide to be better than craft gloves?

I actually like
Deadman's Hand
, but you can get +skills, a proc, better def, and more total DEX on good crafts--plus double MO. And if you really want Doom, you can get that on an ammy.

As for
Rockslide
, the %CB is about the only thing that may make them worthwhile. Again, with the double MO of crafts, you can far surpass Rockslide's %TCD; the %IAS and +to Vitality won't do much for a Melee Sorc; and as much as I like Tremor (and I actually do like Tremor), I like Banish more (again, which you can get on an ammy).

If you really wanted to use them, I think either glove alternative could work, it just depends on whether your other gear can compensate for any deficiencies.

This is great, though. I love ppl trying out new and different things. Keep experimenting.
