Do you mean the build names given in the guide section here like "Melee Sorceress"? These are not "classes" themself but "recipes" for succesfull skill, playing style and item combinations.

Why not just playing Median like Diablo 2? Chose a char, leave town and start hitting stuff :)

Just google it. There are lots of informations out there.

Note: There is no tutorial in-game. You have to understand it the hard way. :)

The game is too expansive to go through in a simple forum post. So without knowing the specifics we can only go through in broad strokes.

There are three main character types in the game: Weapon user, Spellcaster and Summoner.

Weapon users utilize a variety of melee and ranged weapons, large and small. These weapons directly affect your character's damage output and depending on the weapon you're using, grants an additional damage boost based on either your level of Strength or Dexterity. You want to look for a high "One-handed" / "Two-handed" damage weapon for these characters since your attack power is dependant on the weapon you're using.

Spellcasters attack with their own arcane powers. These usually come in the form of elemental attacks. Though some casters can also utilize raw magic attacks. These builds look for "+ x to y spell damage" in their equipment and most of them benefit from high level of Energy instead of Strength / Dexterity. To improve these characters you want to look for eqiupment that provide you with the relevant "- enemy resistance", "+ spell damage" relative to your element. So if you're using lightning as an element for attacking, you'll look for "- enemy lightning resistance" and "+ lightning spell damage". "+energy factor" and "+ all skills" provide universal boost to all spells you cast.

Summoners progress by having their powerful minions do the attack and play a mostly support role either by refreshing their summon count or cursing / hexing enemies to make the killing process easier. These characters look for "+ minion life" "+minion damage" "+minion resistance" and "+minion attack rating" in their equipment upgrades.

It is worth noting that there are 2 very different playstyles for weapon users. One is going (almost) full physical dmg, which is the easier way, because you can leech life from physical dmg, and is easier to scale, and the other is scaling elemental dmg with pierce, which means your leech will be not effective and you have to rely on life on attack/kill and life on striking, because life cant be leeched from elemental dmg, and is a lot more difficult to itemize for, since you cant scale your dmg with str/dex.
