+ skill level in items

Hi guys
i started to play this awesome mod recently
since im so new, im just following the guide called "The Blood Knight" by Stealthmaster [http://forum.median-xl.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1552]
in this guide i noticed that The Angiris Pike should have [ + 2~4 to Paladin Skill Levels ]

however one i got from the game has only [+ 1 to paladin skill levels]

apart from the skill lvl every stat seems very low from what i expected
can some1 plz explain why its different??

That pike is tier 1, at tier 6 it will have between 2-4 skills. It can be upgraded to the next tier by cubing it with an arcane crystal and a rune but doing so also increases the required level and required strength. You can find out the level/stat reqs for each tier in the docs.

is there a difference between arcane crystal upgrade and a rune upgrade?

arcane crystal alone with just ups the tier and does not upgrade stats, arcane + rune will upgrade tier and stats but also requirements, so basically use arcane crystal + rune everytime but make sure your own lvl and stats can cover the tier upgrade.
