GS8 Internet issues

still doesn't work...but I see many realm connection attempts from 2 unknown IPs :/
so let's check it from the start:
1) what is your IP?
Check http://whatismyip.com and to be sure both router/modem status
Do you pay for static IP (usually paid service) or does your IP change (usually either automatically every XX hours/days or on modem/router restart) ?
Do you have Public IPv4 IP? (some ISP use private addresses with NAT or even IPv6 only with NAT64/464XLAT)

2) is D2GS running?
try telnet 192.168.12.34 8888 (use yor PC IP instead of 192.168.12.34, to this IP should be forwarded ports on router)

3) Check if port forwarding works with disabled firewall:

I thought all broadband connections were static? Apparently mines now dynamic through Time Warner/Spectrum to "reallocate" bandwidth when necessary, they said... wtf! Apparently, static IPs are reserved for businesses with TW/Spectrum, who pay double for the "privilege" of a static ip. I don't think with this setup that I'll be able to keep hosting the server . Let me think of other options before I call it quits.

There are less and less IPv4 addresses available so price/IP went up and thus even those ISP that used to give static IP to everyone usually started using dynamic IP assignemt - they can much better utilize their IP pool that way...
It depends how often does your IP changes...if it stays the same at least few days it can be used for GS (although I'd probably create some form of (semi)automatic server reconfiguration in case of IP change so you don't have to send me your new IP every time)
