kind of a nooby MXL player here but one thing that I think that we really really needed in this community was a dedicated voice chat server. I went ahead and got a super cheap host for all you guys to use. Its very small right now "only 10 slots" but if it turns out that its being used a lot and there is real interest in it I would be happy to upgrade the server. I posted a similar thread in the TSW forum but ill post the server info here :mrgreen:

I haven't tried to use it yet but it sounds pretty cool! Though there is one concern I have about your other friends using it (it's your money, so your choice, just a concern), and that is that it might alienate us Median users, and the mixing of games and their concepts in voice could plunge it into mass confusion.

Also, the problem with big chats, as I've experienced multiple times, is the diversity of topics and the need to speak over others to talk to a certain someone else. Though, I have no idea how this site works yet, so I guess I'll just have to see. I could be wrong to worry about these things.

well we can try it out and if there are problems i will make it a median only chat. We have other servers we usually talk on if it is an issue. Lets see how it works and i will moderate it as needed. I would like it to become the official server and like i said if its actually used i will definitely make it a median only environment and try to cater to that as much as possible.

edit: additionally mumble is great since it allows us to have multiple rooms so hopefully that can help avoid the mass confusion of having a bunch of people talking about different games together :oops:

Another idea and one that might be more finely tuned would be a Ventrilo Server. According to how their paid for you can set up various different rooms - its kind of like the general discussion forum thread, one room everyone just talks about random shit and becomes friends and there would be other rooms too - just a thought.

actually mumble allows multiple rooms so i can set this up right now good idea!

so i set up multiple rooms for general discussion in the channel today. We all made some characters and were doing easy ubers with eachother together tonight!
