Beside extracting souls of items you can create set charms(from full set) and aura charms with most auraes(from blood of monsters). Every time you start game you can choice difficult of game(easy/normal/hard, if you play d2se version it's language field -
http://bfed2.diablomods.ru/site/index.p ... ep_lang=EN). At normal/hard difficults you find better drop and meet "frendly fire" - your ranged skills will damage you/your allies too. This mod have unlimited quantity of skill/stat points(some recipes and items add some stat and/or skillpoints). These features make mod pretty sweet but also boring after you complete second difficult where you can farm/gamble most of endgame gear. Many maps were changed but there's no any additional rewards for clearing them(beside location with keys) and no hard bosses for using all your gear/reflexes like in Median. In the end you finish with all your class skills/1023(or 2047?) all atributes/insane defense/damage/some absorbs etc. Not bad but boring after you complete mod couple times.
About early game - just run through first location at p4, open chests and pick staffs/wands with skills and throwing weapon for selling. Gamble for more staffs/wands till level 8 and sell them again, as you get some gold try to gamble Death Combo(gloves/belt from set) or first unique belt(with 10MDR it eliminate most of damage from shamans/rats etc

), first unique armor for free resists etc. You can gamble ~90% of all uniques/sets if your character level allow it. Use javelins from start and hire javelin merc at lvl 8(if you don't play on hard difficult ofc - otherwise she will kill you more often then regular mobs). Farm griswold for gamble charm and upgrade it with gem shrines(you can use multiple those charms with different values of reducing prices). There's a lot more tricks but i forget them - abandoned this mod after second beta 1.60 which implemented high stat requiments on gear and never start again.
