Laz never announced it though, it was Marco for years before he joined force with whist.
Never to believe that we able to see combination of 3 major developer (and other supporter as well) product after 10 years with median.

But again, I dont want to say anything yet about hype.
Of course there will be still bajillion post about suggestion and question.
Just keep it cool and wait for the release

*As for the artifact, you have consider that beta tester probably get all the cards for free, so when they tested on the live server, of course it wouldnt be the same. But again, valve released the game that lacked of features necessary as digital card game (regardless the open / close economy system).

I see what you mean. The "easily do it" was a bit of a stretch. You know, I miss having the ability to make early honorifics but I guess we'll have to wait and see. It's not like everything is set in stone anyways, they can eventually adjust things that are off through mid-season patches, it's been done before.

Yeah. My bad, i always assumed Sigma to be linked to Laz because it was announced in 2012, which was the last year Laz worked on median iirc.

Mephisto one shots you if you have 50 cold resist or below.
The enemies right in front of Duriel kill you easily If you have 50 lightning resist or below.
Vampires at the end of arreat Plateau easily kill you if you have 50 fire resist or lower.

Im fairly certain from the context of what Marco said, that he is talking about Sigma.

That's why I said "I don't know about Sigma". All I said was that it's unreasonable to apply this statement to the current released version of the game and that it's equally unreasonable to expect us to bring up the reduced difficulty of hatred in sigma in the discussion when there's no way we could possibly know.

As a side note (not only @ you nfk): Sorry, I didn't expect this to turn into such a large discussion. Neither did I intend to blame marco or something like that. I only wanted to point out a false statement in order to receive a clear(er) answer. Maybe I just understood something wrong, so let's just wait.

no one is going to be left in the dark. i'm under the assumption that patch notes and docs will be released for sigma, not just 3 months of "welp, find out on your own!"

let's not forget the concept of empathy. put yourselves in the shoes of an mxl17 player, then a sigma tester/player, then the devs, and then you can make comments about what you think is right and wrong:

from the dev side, they know what they're changing and they've known/had ideas for a long time for them to be thought out and appropriate for the game's health and progression.

from the sigma testers, they've been going for quite a long time, so I'm sure issues arose in the transition to the game, but it's a constant grind if they have to keep restarting or testing new things over and over again with bugs just so all of the incoming new players and non-testers can enjoy a functional game. they're not just playing to play or brag that they're a tester. they have specific duties as a tester, probably.

from the non-testers/mxl17 players, you can only assume so much. if the devs say the game is in a healthier state and changes have been made to reduce gaps between players and afk-grindfesting just to progress some gear, then accept what they say until you can see it for yourself in docs/patch notes/game release. I'd be just as shocked as anyone to hear and see all the changes going into effect, but just take it as the fact that sigma is basically a new game. it's still median, and a lot of concepts and mechanics are similar between versions, but a lot of things are changed. for all those saying "I just started, what's the point of me learning all this?" well.... general mechanics. at least you know what a TU is now and how to make a runeword or how the stat/skill allocation system is working compared to other mods or vanilla. You're probably overlooking how many things you've learned just by playing a little bit in the last month of mxl17.

i guess this turned out to not really be a tl;dr, but whatever. welcome back @Prime

SwineFlu wrote:How the hell are we supposed to know about all of the incoming changes? Should we go to a fortune teller or what? Why are the people who is asking about some new mechanics or game changes are getting negged when they tried to question some of these new inventions? Should we just STFU because we are not beta testers and we do not possess all of the necessary information? That's some unhealthy and childish behavior from the people who knows a bit more about the current state of the game.

No need to go full SJW, It's probably equally bad to expect someone to know the upcoming mechanics as it is for someone to jump on conclusions, instead of asking questions that can open to a healthy debate. No need for a fortune teller either, TU/tier rework was mentioned multiple times and there's even a topic for it in this subforum. Everyone is free to ask, I don't see people being negged for asking as you say, and if someone wants to make conclusions on things that have been announced here, you should at least be willing to be corrected. No need for all this fuss tbh, it's what the forums are for.

@Hetch: you quoted me on a statement about sigma and responded as if it was done for M17. Just for clarity, unless specified, all discussion in this topic is based on sigma patch, and I apologize for not making that clear (enough). How were you supposed to know difficulty was adjusted for upcoming gift box removal? Well I mentioned both in the same post... If you want a more in-depth explanation for TU rework, you can check this topic. BTW our intentions to streamline the difficulty have been pointed out multiple times, and emphasized a LOT on our reddit/philosophy posts (one of the headers being: "Median XL was still unfriendly to most new players").

So here's a thought: how 'bout we just wait for Sigma to drop before freaking tf out about how the announced changes are gonna affect the game? Crazy, I know.
