So I figured I would try Bro Laz's old mod while waiting for the ladder reset and ended up playing for a couple of hours non-stop. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a game to play until the 8th of July.

The jist of it is that you can play as one of three demons which replace some of the characters. You have an entirely new skill set which is given by carrying some skill tomes in your inventory. These skills consist mostly of active abilities and some buffs, there are no passives. This is interesting because even on normal many monsters are immune to two elements, with some in a1 already immune to 2 + phys. So you will have to test a lot of new stuff every 6 levels and be comfortable with playing with and switching through at least 3 active skills and keeping up 2-3 buffs.

Other interesting features of the mod for me - regular (white) monsters are almost entirely removed. All the levels are now mostly populated with champions and boss packs which makes the levelling aspect a lot more fun since there are no plain boring enemies. All the super uniques have been replaced with essentially "challenge bosses" - big life hard hitting mobs which force you to dodge their skills or die in 2-3 shots. I would personally suggest waiting for lvl6 before going in the Den of evil for that reason .

All the maps are also extra dark - Bro Law tried to make light radius a viable stat, and he somewhat succeeded especially if you are playing a ranged character. The stats on every gem and rune vary like the ones on regular items, this was implemented in a funny way. Unique items are all replaced and there is a late game crafting system. (unfortunately sets & runewords are not finished)

This is an old mod which was released before D2SE came to be. Fortunately making it D2SE compatible was really straightforward so here is a little archive I created for those interested - Download. It also works with plugy so you can restat and respec skills at your leisure.

First few levels and fights were kinda fun but than all hype was killed by the unfinisness. No description on skills or how they scale when maxing. No idea how hp pots work, but for most parts they seems to give +1hp regen which was really meh. Regen pots worked fine. All my gears had knockback on them ... Even found jewels with one attribute only - knockback. A lot of inbalanced things and lots of random fps drops. Especially when you ran into caster mob group, they just rape screen with their spells and insta lag. Tried druid type of char which felt a lot like treewarden. Starts with lvl 6, 12, 18, ect skill tomes, my guess is just free options to try out skills before you sink your points in them. Anyways i had this wildfirewanabe on atack and some abyss nova on atack clones, plus mf ghost summon. Raped everything i met on my way. Even fire immunes were killed from that fire on atack thing. Don't see a point to continue.

Quick note -- tried the Baldur's Gate mod from that list and it has some really funky visuals and a kind of cool renaming of the classes but it stopped looking so cool when I realized every single skill tree was just a default one shifted around a little and the only guy with different spell icons (the Necromancer who was remade into the Conjurer) actually just had a reskinned set of minions lmao

I liked how there were a LOT more monsters though, like just outside the rogue encampment there was five packs of monsters each with a leader, and drops seemed REALLY skinny but there was XP by the boatload

You also started with 50 stat points, which was interesting

There were some definitely cool concepts though like the Barbarian's warcries having no prereqs besides level and druid shapeshifting/werewolf form attacks being two separate trees, so for a 1.09 LoD mod (meaning I assume it's a VERY EARLY LoD mod) it's not a half bad stab at something, probably something on par with what I can do lmao

You start with 50 stat points, but your main stats are all at 5 right ? This gives you freedom to use stats as you like from lvl 1.

Pagal heart

Download from here, just sroll down until you see the name.
Features - works with D2SE, works with plugy. No realm or at least no info about it.
Restat - yes, if you have IQ over 70 and can change few 0 into 1 in the plugy.ini. Otherwise - still yes, but not for you.
Chars - same 7 chars as regular, almost identical skills. Some chars got 1-2 new skills, like mf aura for paladin. 4 stat points per lvl and 1 skill point per lvl, no mana per lvl up, you have to put points into energy. Or get items with energy. Lvl 20 paladin with 22 mana and lvl 1 shield needs 35 mp to active .... whyyyyy
Resistances realy matters.

Some areas are changed, expanded, subtracted. Quest line is same with same items and locations. Pretty straight forward.

Visuals and sounds. Now this is the best part. Visuals - every npc, enemy and friend, item is changed. You will see them in the pictures below. Town npc are adjusted in a bit retarted way, but works ok when you get used to it. Hireling visuals also changed.
Sounds - now this is the reason to play it. Have you ever heard a zombie meow when it takes damage ? Well now you can. A fucking MEOWING zombie. Yes, thats right. And there will be more, constipated bears, dying monkies, beavers dragged through broken glass, ... well you get the idea. My usual gameplay when i mute sound and launch winamp is totally forgotten.

Difficulty: only difficulty so far (act 4 at the moment) is resistances. You start with -25 all and each elemental atack hurts like a moving truck full of furniture. You get cycles and more cycle type of items for inventory which will increase resistances. Also diamonds in shield and so on. When you fix that and get some dmg power - almost gg. Some enemies have nasty atacks, but those are easy to learn and counter. Can be done by p8 with regular mobs and switching to p1 for bosses. P8 Andariel dropped set items. In general most of the drops is just white trash sold for gold. Since all names are changed it takes time to learn what to pick up and what to leave. Or just pick up all and go to town few more times and get more gold. There is no scroll tomes, so you have to keep loose scrolls in inventory. Which is a bit annoying.

Sad part: the lack of documentation about cube recipes and runewords. I dig up some topics in phrozen keep. But it seems like modder was more trolling with community than giving the full info. If anyone has source/info - please let me know.
