Not really. Sorceress is also strong in the mod and can complete it way faster than barb/druid because of AoE spells.Considering the fact that you will mostly buff Energy or Vita (there are special armor for casters with lower str reqs), your average DPS will be a lot better (Lower Resists curse is accessible with no problem).
Also for my druid full physical immunities (Amplify Damage has no effect on them) and, especially undead stygian dolls (Iron Maiden on melee attack) are impossible to beat, cause my elementlal damage is low and you can hardly see iron Maiden curse on yourself when you're surrounded with already cursed enemies.
All in all, barb is a balance-breaking char in Nezeramontias because he has a skill that reduces vendor prices (in the mod which is based on gold find, this is very cheesy). Together with his passives he is like unholy paladin from MXL - has everything you need.
Apart from huge life pool (has 16k now) and superfast running speed wolf druid has no advantages over other chars. I have ITD but my %AR vs bosses is low -around 50-60% cth with already TONS of dexterity. I also have almost no defence - 93% ctbh by Hell Bovine in Hell difficulty. Also, low elemental damage, as being said before. So, for example, in order to survive in Hell Gauntlet (where Gauntlet Duriels take around 8k life from 1 hit - with lots of DR and %DR), an average caster would just respec all pts into vita (wolf has no need for respec). If your caster char can easily avoid being hit by stacking FRW - you can win the game as well.

Edit: Finally, monsters drop way more souls, suitable for caster classes. Literally, you will have a big variety of oskills where you can find curses, elemental spells, summons etc. Many 'caster-friendly' souls are dropped by uberbosses, thus they can be very powerful. As for melee chars, it's enough to get Hell Bovine and/or Smith/Hephasto soul to equip and be fine.
