I don't know if morph will make it to sigma but how about making them able to use class specific items? Eg sorc morph pal helm = sorc armor and warp blade equipable by pal only when wearing helm etc

Would prob need balancing to avoid ridiculous OPness in some situations.

Personally, I feel this is a really terrible idea. Marco adding the extra tree on each tab as he did already added so much variety. It'd be impossible to add more without conceptual overlap, as in some if not all skills would become generic copies of one another. In that regard, it's already like that with some skills, but luckily there's enough variety in each tree to keep you from noticing. Adding more trees would, imo, dilute the unique skills down further.

Point taken. I made that suggestion after I started playing one of the original versions of Median on single player. It's amazing how far this mod has come.


Median has essentially become a MUCH better, separate game in the long run. Easily the most in-depth D2 mod IMO.

Yeah I think at this point it'd make more sense to rework existing trees than add even more ones.
Eg. Replace Treewarden tree with a Bear one, Traprat with Drider, combine Assassin claw and Nagi tree into one, then give her a 2H sword tree (c'mon, it looks cool), change Barb pure summoner tree to a summoner + caster tree, maybe put some "WDM caster" skills like Stormzon's HoZ in the throw tree.

Edit: Come to think of it, apparently it's possible to summon multiple minions at once in Sigma. So I think it'd be cool if the barb could summon all three Ancestors in one cast. That way you could combine the three skills into one. Maybe have a separate skill that passively increases the effect of the Bloodlust proc applied by the Protectors. So that way you could do a traditonal summoner that invests a lot of points into the summon skill, or a caster/spellproc build that puts 1 point into the summon skill and smaxing the Bloodlust passive.

I, too, agree that reworking existing skills and trees will be better — at least in the short teem — than adding more stuff.

On the other hand I disagree that there will necessarily be overlap. Until now many things were not possible due to engine limitations; with sigma and the work whist put into the core many (all?) of those limitations have been lifted, potentially allowing for almost anything Marco can come up with.

Well not really. The problem in skill diversity in median isn't caused by limitations but rather, the low amount of decent skill/missile functions that there are available.

Skills will be one of the lowest priorities for the first sigma versions. For the first alpha, the biggest reworks will be seen on the levels, maps, regular monsters, cube recipes, items and uberquests. Several uberquests will be removed (brachy, infernal machine, etc.), several quests will be reworked from scratch (lesser prime evils: Azmodan & Belial), uberquests will be moved outside the main storyline, tiered item count will be reduced to 4, one-of-each sacred unique will be removed or will replace a removed tiered unique (because Jitan's Kamon+deadfall has become unoriginal). There will be new uberquests. Dogmas will be removed because they're not fun. Most forms of item rerolling will be gone because horadric cube is taking way too much time of our lives. I can go on for an hour but my point is, no don't expect a new character tree, at least for a while.

So what the plans for 3 difficulty story mode in Sigma?

IIRC whist posted a picture about bounty mode before.
We all know game start at the maximum level and all other low level are merely small obstacles (and knowledge wall for new player) to jump over.

Kinda sad for removal of dogma, i knew it was workaround to give player "power level" after removal of attributes challenges.
Sound like you want people to rush normal story content without anything else to do (aside from gear-check for difficulty / certain elite encounter)

IMHO, Horadric cube formulas - is one of the greatest things in Median, it is a core feature, if someone likes to have limited crafting system, that is compensated with no-brain grinding - he can just play diablo 3 instead
