Whist reworked the GUI code and removed GUI borders, so any support for resolutions different from the one Sigma will ship in (1024x768) has been cut, since the GUI can't be resized whatsoever without GUI borders.
Thus no resolutions above or below 1024x768 are planned or possible in Sigma.
With no GUI border we will have more screen estate though, possibly ~100px more on both the horizontal and vertical dimensions.

After all, resolutions above are problematic because of monster AI, and resolutions below wouldn't be used, and since removing the GUI border simplifies GUI code (and thus development time) Whist decided to remove it. This also means bigger inventory / stash / LCS

These are the borders I'm talking about

Of course, I'm not Whist so I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure about this.

So basically D2MultiRes compatibility has been dropped. Oh well.

The resolution will be 1024x768. I think the GUI coding already takes enough time as it is, I really don't plan on implementing multi-resolution support, as it would only make it more tedious and long to replace the GUI code. There's also all kind of actual game mechanics problem that would come with a resolution greater than that, already mentioned in the topic.

So basically hacks compatibility has been dropped. Oh well.

Fixed. Anyways with all the GUI code that has been rewritten from scratch, D2MultiRes and many other plugins/hacks will not work any more. Even PlugY is not compatible for all kind of code conflicts. Although, some features of PlugY are built-in in Sigma (ilvl display, expanded stat screen, ability to pickup multiple charms in cube/stash). With the source of PlugY being released, I might also implement multi-page stash, with a possibility of having it work on realm as well (realm would likely have a limited number of pages though)

I do not plan on re-implementing shared stash in single player as this was just used for cheating and twinking (although it will be implemented on realm. like an account shared stash, with (maybe) the possibility of sharing access with specific users). Even the normal stash might have a limited amount of pages in single player. Unlimited pages was never a "must". Not to mention the stash page is quite big in sigma (bigger than mxlu)

Well, that would make it FAR easier to install everything. It's a "if it's not implemented, you can't have it". xD So will DLL injectors still be around, like D2MapReveal?

Maphacks are part of the stuff that will not work anymore. And it is to note that it's not because I wanted it this way, but rather because necessary code replacements led to this. But if you asked me, I would say this is a good thing. Map reveal was yet another hack we tolerated and considered among "add-on plugins", but what it really is, is cheating. I do not plan on implementing a built-in map reveal. Hell, what's the point of randomly generated levels at this point? If that's what you want I will just remove the random drlg code and make it generate all preset levels.

Also, assuming Sigma incorporates a lot of new maps and mapping in general, map hacks won't be as tempting because everything will be different to what you're used to and there will be rooms you've never even seen before.

I really hope mapping for each act is something that Marco focuses on in Sigma. Iirc he said it's something he wants to work on, which is exciting because one of the worst things about Median imo is the boring untouched acts. There are a ton of things you could do mix things up and make each act fresh. This is actually something I want to look into after my other projects are finished.

Nah, I found the use of map revealers to be excessive, because it took a way a great aspect of the game away. I've never used it. So I'm glad it doesn't work :)

that makes no sense, nobody is forcing you to use it so why be glad that it's removed?

It makes complete sense. Use actual hacks for an example. I'm not being forced to use them, but I don't like them. So I'm glad hacks can no longer work. D2MR is basically a hack. I think people shouldn't use it because it makes it easy :p
