"i guess you just want everything handed out to you in a silver platter."
If this would be the point, i had throw away this game a decade ago.
"You would be on the complete 1% minority of people who thinks a charm/trophy/charm upgrade for opening locked chests is a good suggestion (lul grinding a trophy just for that) , this is nitpicking at it's best."
Well others suggestions are something like Mr. Heathen told us beautifully. I did not say, that the charm/trophy should have only this option. There are several options. Maybe just add this to a charm/trophy which isn´t really worth farming? However, a charm like this would make the gameplay smoother in some cases without overpowering it.
"Inventory space at endgame has always been reduced/non existent in diablo. Clod inventory size is puny compared to median's, and endgame consists on full +skill grandcharms , small charms of life/%ar/psn damage, torch and annihilus. Not even space for the cube or tomes. It has never been an issue. Necromancer for instance , before SU wand got nerfed, had to reserve a good portion of cube/inventory to prebuff gear. Probably still has to, with the exception of that wand which is now next to useless. Adapt."
This is not completely true. An advanced d2 player could play the whole game without any charm, every pve character only uses charms if they can handle less inventory space. Pvp characters ofc got full inventory with charms, because they dont need to collect anything. Also in pve you need to collect only very few items, most times you just look if it is ethereal or not. The small inv/chest space of diablo 2 was always a big minus of this game. I dont know a single player who wouldn´t wish to have more space.
In median you can collect much more items to make cube reagents/signets/gold/whatever. Since i came to midgame i had to decide what i want to collect or to interrupt my run every time something drops to make it stackable before going on, which would take huge amount of time.
Inventory-/Stash-size decides about a comfortably gameplay. If it is too small it kills the gameplay by slowing it down. If it is too big it slows you down by "arrrgh where you put i...". A good size would be if i could farm a complete uber like fauzt and can collect all usefull drops on average.
"Gambling for SUs would completely eliminate the need to farm specific drop biased areas like Duncraig for sacred items (even with extremly low ratios of gambled item being sacred unique), meaning you'd only need to run IOTSS for gold over and over. While i can see where you're coming from with the woes of rngjesus not being fair and not giving you the drop you want/need, it's the whole point of this game. Click stuff til they die and hope for the best, sometimes you're the windshield sometimes you're the bug."
If 99,99% of all SU are not in your need in any case, farming for the 0,01% is not viable too. Now if there would be the gamble option (which is also not really viable) you have a slightly higher chance to get it using farming and gambling together.
This would not eliminate anything. Did it kill farming in d2?
Also, where ever is a gamble should also be a jackpot, right?
