I am new to the game and wanted to come check out the forms here. I am loving it so far and wanted to see how big the community was. Is this mod still being updated or have plans for some big update in the future?

these forums are currently in construction, so they aren't fully active. Community now is somewhat split between the new forums and the older ones.
