launcher "unknown version"

Hello everyone,
First of all thats my 1st post here, sorry if its on the wrong forum section. As an old long time d2 player iam very exited to play your mod.

As the title says when i start the median launcher ( version 0.2.8.0) it says "unknown version", i can only choose "restart", which does not change anything.
I've read this post https://forum.median-xl.com/viewtopic.php?p=100771#p100771 and deleted the "patch_d2.mpq"

Iam running windows 10 in french.

Is it normal for now that i cant play at all?

On an other side, iam now unable to even launch the "classic" d2 lod, is that normal since i've added median files ? I never played median before so its maybe a stupid question..

-Note that, right now, the launcher has some problem with non-English OS

When you read the help you should probably do what it says. Launcher doesn't currently work with non-english OS.

Do a manual install after uninstalling the launcher.

You can't play vanilla d2 with median installed unless you have multiple different installations or use d2se.

I did exactly what it is said on this link and its not working

Anyway i was soo hyped for this so i posted expecting a miracle, but yeah i guess i'll just wait it works with non english os

What error message are you getting on manual install?

And you (hopefully) removed the launcher from add/remove programs instead of just deleting the median xl folder?

Iam not getting any error when i install it, but when i launch the median client i got this :

And yeah when i deleted everything and re installed everything i didn't just delete the folders

and run Diablo II.exe as admin. don't run trough the launcher.

I had similar problem and using the D2VidTst app in my diablo directory fixed it for some reason (I don't know why it works tough). It may be worth a shot...

I am using win10 french. I was getting the same problem with the restart box...So I followed the steps (uninstalled the launcher), did the manual steps (copied the dled files in the D2 folder) and then dled the newest MXL 2017 and copied them in the D2 folder and....

The error box "Failed to retrieve process" appears. I cannot open D2.

My D2/LoD install is a legit copy from Blizzard's site.

Failed to retrieve process means that you need to set game.exe and Diablo II.exe to run as admin.
