Got to act 5 destr on new ladder, where should I be farming?

So basically, I'm new to median xl. I made light/cold sorc and got her to level 119 on the new ladder. I've kind of "completed" destruction difficulty, since after reading a bit about the mod I've found out that the destruction baal fight is more of an uber. So now, I am kind of stuck. I tried doing destruction Kurast 3k BA, but it was way too difficult for me. I need some kind of place where I could get my gear up a little bit more, and would appreciate any pointers on how I should progress from here.

Even for seasoned players this is kinda the case from time to time. My tip is to try to find some Dcow games and get some base gears and rares to craft from. You could also do Ancients way for good drops if you dont want to go to uber areas yet. K3k needs killing speed to be fun and efficient. I recommend sticking to the acts themselves.

Try to also get your hands on some basic charms. King Koth, Binding of Baal, Butcher etc. Most of these are easy to do with Light/Cold sorc.

Thanks! I'll try to get some of the charms you mentioned. About crafting, I think I understand how to craft with the shrines, but I can't seem to find any decent amulet/ring to use. Is there any recipe I should know about for those 2?

I am no crafting expert because I almost never do it. But I think crafting is based around the itemLevel. Basically get an item from a high level area and put it with a shrine in cube and transmute.

Here is a good shrine crafting guide: http://forum.median-xl.com/viewtopic.php?t=119 . Each shrine gives way for certain set of affixes/suffices.

Basically high ilevel rare (sacred) item + shrine and keep pressing that transmute btn until you get what you want!

I've tried doing butcher and it was quite easy. Now binding of baal is just horrible - i cant even kill a couple of tal rashas minions, and just keep getting 1-2 shot by the flames.. Anything I could do to make it easier? As for the King Koth, I'll work on getting through act 5 to get to ancients to summon him.

Not anymore, pretty much only unique creation recipe. Now it's just a matter of luck to find a nice one and hope that Oil Blessing or Lottery works. Or you can do like me reroll magic ring with oils of removal countless times and hope you get plain 1+ skill, it has level req of 30 so plenty of MO space.

As for Binding of Baal, they pierce your resistances. So unless you stack a lot of resistances (over the maximum) you just have to dodge them. Summon in the corner (I prefer top) and lure them one by one.

summon tal rasha in the corner. like RIGHT in the corner. sometimes he spawns alone if you summon him just right. also play it slow. summon and run and pull them in one by one. Use lots of summons. it's ez. good luck!
