What Can We Expect Of Median XL 2016/Sigma

As new player in this forum i am little confused about this, so i have a few newbie questions:

1)does median xl 2016 is the same as sigma, or they will be 2 different releases?
2)players will able to do pvp?
3)what will happen to the system of the actual game (uberquests, skills, visuals, formulas), will be remaked all from scratch?
4)documentation will be updated at the same time of the released or is intended players discover all first.
5)can we expect a new act and new classes?


and last one

6)will the sin war 2 servers be able to endure the large ammount of players connected when they be released?

THX beforehand and forgive me if they are silly questions.

1- no, MXL and sigma are not the same.
2- you can always pvp (unbalanced one cause median is pve oriented)
3-you can read mini-review on whats gonna happen to the ubers.
4-the docs updates will take its time, its hugen stuff and they might be low on writers.
5-thats stupid.
6-I believe it will, if not, im sure marco will figure it out

1: Not the same, I hope it won't require D2SE or have any of those silly launchers like BFE (my god, it doesn't even work).
2: Yes, and I've heard (not 100% sure) that it'll be a bit more balanced than the current pvp (which is still fun :P).

4: Writing docs takes some time m8.
5: It's possible, some mods have done that, but it's not needed, at all. Would just be extra work.
6: Maybe expect some server down issues, but they will hold.

Actually nobody ever really did that, and that would require very extensive rewriting of the game code in order to be done properly.

1) No, Median XL 2016 and Median XL Sigma aren't the same project
2) If by that you mean balanced pvp and pvp-oriented features, then no
3) This has been discussed here and there, see this thread for example
4) It will be updated, but that might take some time
5) Already replied to this earlier in my post

after your answers my only concern is about pvp, i know you can do pvp now, but is a lot unbalanced, and skills do a lot of damage, some can even kill you in 1 shot, i hope pvp become balance in some way, maybe by making a server only for pvp with a patch with skills nerfed for it

Since questions from 2 on are not directed towards a specific release, I'll reply to both:

2016
2) PvP can already be done in median - although I agree it's not super balanced, it's fun and viable if you make PvP-based characters. People usually just use their PvE chars to go hostile, and the fluctuation of stacked resistances and stacked pierce is what makes output damage vary from none to instant kill. Will it improve in 2016? Yes, it will indirectly become better thanks to the reduction of charm stats which will lead to battles last longer.

4) there won't be much to update anyways.
5) no
6) well there are noticeable problems already on ladder resets. It is normal that at first things don't work too well. For 2016 ladder, I'll try to get a total of 10 gameservers.

6) same logic for 2016 patch. Except we can expect at least a 100% userbase increase. But if a sigma ladder ever happens, I'll probably be so mind blown that probably I wouldn't care about this.



That's highly out of date and I wouldn't take it as a reference. :)

Will you do it like blizzard wanted to do in diablo 3, but they dint because they said they dint like how it will end like deathmatch style?

i know i anoy too much about pvp, but after people do normal game they want to waste time fighting others instead of do their debts :D , usually in all online games is about competition, and i would like to fight other players to see if my char is good, of course i know in any game will be not perfect, there is builds for pvp and pve as well.

PD: maybe this will make players to be more jellaous with their respective builds, and dont say them to other players, all persons like to have something unique.

Yes, kinda in the same way hardcore and softcore are two separated game modes. Although it does require some quite extensive changes, and this likely won't be fully implemented in the initial release (and rather added in a patch update later). And even if you forget the extensive changes needed code-wise, there's also all the stuff to work out in files. Some levels need to be created, etc. Although it will surely make it's way to the game eventually, a good part of it is already coded in, it's just unused in it's current state (Blizzard themselves had most of the arena code coded-in, some of it is even in use in vanilla, you just don't see it).

I just don't want to focus on this too much for now and rather rush as much as possible to make a first release, since the pvp features will be a small separated extension feature, while the project in general still aims more toward pvm/story mode features.
