Both methods of downgrading won't work for me anymore since I downloaded a fresh install from blizzard's site. Trying to have a cloned install of the game invalidates my cd-key and prevents me from playing online. This is what happens when you don't buy a CD-Drive I guess

And yes, I do enjoy playing cLoD and MXL.

If everything fails, just pm me. I can upload both a 1.12 installer for diablo 2 vanilla and a rom for clod to google drive. I have the vanilla installer still lying on my external harddrive. And it shouldn't be that hard creating an image of my clod cd.

Path of Diablo has a public download for the legacy online installers for their users. Pretty simple to just download it and install that way. And that makes absolutely no sense to have a key invalidated for having multiple copies of the game on your computer? I have like 10 copies, a few of them loaded with bots and mods... and I have six keys that have yet to get banned. I've never heard of that. Unless you meant something else and not Blizzard invalidated it.

I worded that horribly. I meant to say was "I can't play online on cloned installs, only my original install works because it has the CD-key."

So i just downloaded this mod. It shows its installed when i load the game but as soon as i make a char and click start i instantly get a game crash. any help would be awesome

What is the error when it crashes? Are you using the right version of Diablo? Did you follow all the steps here?:

it just says unrecoverable internal error line #2016

you are not running 1.13

you can see your d2 version in your launch screen

this isn't the proper topic to ask for support btw
