Not getting a connection to the server after updating to MXL2017

Hi guys, I've been away for a while and haven't played for almost a year.

Very nice to see there is a new update available and I'm eager to go and play online with my old friends.

Sadly, there seems to be a connection issue where it just keeps looking for the fastest server. Now in the Sin War status page I can see the servers are online so that should not be the problem. I have installed the new mod through D2SE with the installation package that was provided here on the forums:

I have disabled plugy and the game runs fine offline.

Is there any way that the server's address is wrong in the package that is provided on the forums to use with D2SE?

I actually didn't but it's not neccesary.

Now I decided to reinstall everything. When I start the mod through D2SE it already shows Sin War as the gateway. It just doesn't connect. IP registry isn't needed anymore and since it shows 'The Sin War' as a realm this shows it's set correctly. It is through the MXL MOD folder that was specifically provided for D2SE.

The realm set is:
realm.median-xl.com

Also I'm getting this error:

I have already unblocked all the DLL's and I can't get it to work. I set the DEP to try that out. I set every exe to Administrator mode in compatability mode with Win7.

I'm lost here :cry:

it's probably set in registry (BNETIP)

but that shouldn't matter if mxl.dll is loaded - which is probably the main problem...

or try installing c++ 2012 redistributable - http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... st_x86.exe

Thanks, this got me further, however, now I'm having an access violation even with the DEP setting correctly set.
