Will I ever find great gear in Single Player?

Well there are many single players like us and i don't see why we cant have all stuff from median xl like realm players? Laugh if you want but i personaly dont have internet conection at home and prefer playin' sp

reason of realm items and etc is one way to encourage people to play on realm; bigger community etc

what you miss out on is actually not that much, its not game breaking or anything (not yet anyways)
