Observations and Suggestions for the Median XL Mod
1. Random Walking Behavior During Stamina Transition
When picking up items or walking for an extended period, especially during transitions between running and walking (whether or not stamina is depleted), the character sometimes walks erratically for a fraction of a second.
The only way to stop this is by casting a skill or repeatedly pressing the Shift key.
This appears to be a bug that should be addressed.
2. Stamina Balance
The stamina in the mod feels insufficient compared to the original vanilla Diablo II.
The stamina bar is increased slightly in the mod (set to 50), but it could use a further boost to allow for longer running periods on the map.
Extended running would improve gameplay and reduce the tediousness of frequently switching to walking.
3. Item Sharing in Multiplayer
While muling is available and allowed, many players are unaware of how to use it.
Adding a direct item-sharing feature in multiplayer would improve accessibility and make item transfers more user-friendly.
4. Fast Casting Enhancements
Currently, using external programs for fast-casting is prohibited (likely due to ban risks).
It would be helpful if the mod included a built-in quick-cast plugin to allow easier casting without constantly selecting abilities manually or relying solely on the hotkey bar (1-4).
This would streamline gameplay for players, especially in intense combat situations.
5. Graphics Settings for Low-End PCs
Low-end PCs often struggle with the Glide Wrapper and have to rely on DirectDraw mode.
Unfortunately, the mod doesn't include an option to adjust advanced graphical settings, such as:
Disabling shadows (making them static rather than dynamic).
Disabling rain particles or other environmental effects, which heavily impact performance.
Adding these options would make the game more accessible to players with very low-end systems, ensuring smooth gameplay across a wider range of hardware.
