Your opinion on auto corpse recovery?

I think we can all agree there was some fun in corpse recovery, but the removal just outweights it:

- SP endgame is now more in line with realm endgame
- Better server performance (less need to re-create or re-join games)
- No need to perm games for 5 minutes
- No more people losing their entire gear due to str bug / human error / lag

That is, in addition to the fact that, recovering corpse wasn't always fun. Especially like when you had to walk long areas, such as when you die in underground passage or chaos sanctuary.

Finally, yes people are saying you could make terrorist (on-death proc based builds). And to be honest it sounds like something quite fun (considering on-death procs weren't a big deal). At most you will be able to kill some medium difficulty ubers with that strategy, so I don't really see the problem with it.

In the future, we want to enhance the lack of corpse with new features such as boss events (quests you need to do without dying) as well as putting a timer after you die (like 10 seconds) to prevent potential abuse.

Yes, it is, but I'm not advocating for that. I'm simply pointing out that the only "viable" strategy some builds have for some Ubers is to throw your corpse at it a dozen times and pray. Auto corpse recovery doesn't make that process easier, just less frustrating. And that's a good thing.

Tp holding is done in Sp as easy and as often as in any other place. All you need to do is open 2 instances of the game and join your own lan game. The host keeps the tp opened while you can rejoin from the other instance of the game and re enter the portal whenever you want/die. Some here seam not to know that,and believe it is a realm only feature :lol:

In what regards the corpse recovery , this makes some ubers a lot easier as you can always go back with your gear on instead of going naked , running towards your body that most of the time is in a place swarmed by opponents.

And as iwansqual said, it makes room for terorist builds a lot more than before.

I agree with your points concerning corpse recovery.

However, a timer on death sounds aweful for now, since I don't know all the details.
Imagine that you're playing with some friends to level 120 and one of them dies all the time because he decided to play clawsin. A timer is taking all the speed away and punishes the one who needs to progress the most, while his friends slowly outlevel him more and more. If I were that guy, I'd be pretty pissed that the system simply says: Stop. You have to wait now.

So in hatred and terror I don't see a timer on death being useful or a fun feature. It should be only implemented in Dest, if possible.

The boss events sound awesome. Will that be a realm-only feature?

I see. I didn't mean anything hostile by my previous comment. With that said, another and much more viable strat is to respect. I personally enjoy build variety for uber completion. Or some even dedicated specs for uber like Laz because of the mechanics it provides.

I pray one day more ubers like Laz come out. I enjoy doing ubers that have an "oops you slipped you die" sort of scenario all while having an interesting fight itself. Triune has an interesting similar one shot mechanic but the fight feels so much more volatile that it's quite infuriating all because of the super slow. I hate not being able to control my char. :(

I love the new corpse location feature. Nothing worse than running through levels naked, or having to rejoin over and over to do shit.
