i would have to agree with the majority of what has been said. mechanics wise its pretty much the superior system for fights that are supposed to be longer. however something that hasnt been mentined so far is the loss of some flavor. clearly in many ways the one shot mechanics and heavy rng dependence are a bad thing, but the heroic "res-flickering" was something that was inherent to bosses and it made them special and more interesting. with that removed they look more plain, and honestly i would not mind a super crappy heroic shield on belial for the sake of that flavor (and flavor alone). maybe the yshari mini bosses still have heroic shields, havent been there yet. hopefully the heroic mechanic is not completely lost because even though it sucks when the heroic shield is ultra strong like sometimes astrogha not dropping res for 10 mins, if the shield is weak... its actually a cool feature imo

I for one am extremely happy they are gone. Heroic shields were the most insanely frustrating thing. Avoid is kind of annoying too I'd much rather fight a boss for a longer period with a huge health bar I can chip away at rather than stand and swing madly missing over and over because of avoid/shield.
