If you use Tantrum, do you use summons to hold him in place, then run up and hit him with Tantrum, or do you let him chase you around the stage and throw down Tantrums as you run?

how you counter baals attacks pls?

i let him chase me, but for the first hit i place a tantrum on the floor and then weapon switch to

to apply slow, which helps a great deal with pinning him down. then i walk from side to side and place 3+ tantrums on the floor and run in circles around him so he gets hit a lot more by it


Do you remember what your chance-to-hit was last time you did it? I have 135k, giving me 85% CtH. SwineFlu recommended 150k+ for Uldy himself, so maybe I just need more AR?

It really does seem like Baal is ridiculously tough compared to the other stages. Seems out of place.

the fight overall is just really annoying

i dont remember exactly, but i had double abandoned tantrum bow with ar orbs, smax daedalus, full dex setup. do you have good ow? if not then there is items like tu heavy boots or

Why are you able to use Pagan Rites while transformed on druid? I'm not sure why since its type is labeled as a spell which normally can't be used while transformed and there isn't anything in the description saying you can. I think it's just a specific exception, but it would be nice to know if there was some other rule I don't know about that allows this.

Iron wolves do not benefit at all from weapon modifiers; All three classes have no WDM% skills. Don't be fooled though; they have some nice damage output.
(Blood Mage and Necrolyte could proc "WDM% skills on kill" with their poison, but building a meaningful chain and achieving it when wanted is unreasonable, but that is way off the rails here.)

All mercenaries are exceptionally specialized {9 classes}: read about their skills and specials in the docs. A million percent better than cLoD mercs. Definitely amazing improvements from the MXL teams. A way i use them is focus them on an elemental i have limited or no access too. For example, a Cold+Light Sorc can use a Blood Mage and have access to NICE fire+Poison damage and a [random?] army-wide heal. Or, indeed, A son of Arreat would give you a/another tank with Phys+Fire+Magic damage and a nice buff/stun.

However, for example, using an Abjurer (Lightning+Phys) with a Light+Mana sorc seems counter-productive to me. Sure those that have no immunity fall faster, but Rainbowing your damage output as much as possible is the best way, IMHO. Factor in your army composition as well: Having strong summons (or being tanky yourself) gives Iron Wolves and SotSE more flexibility, where as Town Gaurds and Barbarians can tank somewhat or become elemental proc monsters.

I :heart: mercs. Just wanted to share some insight(RalTirTalSol). They are definitely WAYY more flexible and useful than cLoD mercs. (Which were good to begin with!) {Not vanilla mercs though, those suck...}

Thanks! I can play without Merc, but sometimes I pick Merc act 3 (Abjurer) to help me clear monsters faster :lol:

Yeah, 100% OW not a problem. Actually landing enough consecutive hits to stop his regen seems to be my biggest issue, so I'll try to boost my AR some more.

Pagan Rites is probably classified as a "buff." Like how Baneblade on a Sorc locks out spells, but you can still use Miasma and Shadow Avatar while it's active b/c they're classified as "debuffs" (I assume).

Does deaths fury totem stack?? Ie. Does having 4x totems mean 4x the elemental damage added or no is it the same as having 1?
