I orbed a bow for my zon up to level 118. It was a tier 6 unique (Webspinner).

I then added a Jah rune, which bumped it up to required level 129.

I thought as long as a rune is under the required level of what you put it into, and it is not making a runeword, it would not increase the required level of the item. ??

In other words, Unique bow = 118 required level. Jah rune = 65 required level. The Jah should not have increased the required level. or so I thought.

nice question, adding a rune to an item makes the item require the level of the rune, then any other adaptions like mystic orbs are calculated on top of that.

So this might be a bug then with the new build I guess... I did the same exact thing last ladder and it did not bump up the level.

There is no bug. Mystic orbs take the highest base level in the item, whether its a jewel, rune, or the item itself, and adds the +level onto that. You were using a bow that had a lower lvl than the Jah, so honestly (no offense) it's just your fault for over-orbing. Socket the runes first next time to avoid that or just keep in mind the highest socket or item lvl req that you're working with when you add mo's.

I guess the right answer would be that it's the item with the highest level req that decides. In this case the rune has a higher level (65) req than the bow (54) (pre-orbing)
