^ reposting. tried a tier 1 lab on poison sorc and harpies offscreen hit me 2-3 times and full mana orb is empty, can't get close enough to even hit with carpet of spiders because of mana cost and seemingly high mana shield drain

"Systematically killed" in the sense that you see it dying near the stairs or that it suddenly disappear like when you progress very fast without teleporting and the minions left behind occasionally disappear?

Orb of Annihilation mana cost 4500, but i can cast it even with 1 mana. This is how it should be?


Its just a visual server desynch when u have high fcr frames and run out of mana. Ones casted with no mana do no dmg. U must be new to Diablo 2 if u have never seen this, its been here since d2 was made.

I play in single player. My lvl 85 assa don't have any points in int (~5000 max mana, no mana regen). The difference between 1 OA and 10 is easy to see.

It has been a a couple of seasons since I have played. Upon playing my lvl 57 druid, I noticed that I could not use any move that required a specific weapon type even if I had that particular weapon type equipped. For instance, for the hunter specialization moves, it says they require a bow or a crossbow, but even when equipping a bow or crossbow, the moves still would not work and appeared red to me (I also had arrows and bolts equipped too, so that isn't the problem). The same occured when trying other specializations that required a specific weapon.

Another bug I have run into is when holding down left click to move, and then bringing up the skill tree or character screen and then mousing over that particular pane causes the character to keep moving even if left click is depressed.

Couldn't this be because Mana costs and Mana pools have been halved in the new patch, but damage received by players stayed the same?

Possibly, but the broader point is that it kinda defeats the purpose of Mana Shield if it's impractical (sometimes even harmful) against enemy casters. And not just casters in Dungeons/Rifts/Labs. Some mobs in regular areas can deal a ton of Elemental damage, even with high res (Thunderbolts, Broken Souls, etc.). It also doesn't explain why Phys damage doesn't seem to hurt the shield as much as spells. But that might be a Phys Res thing. Idk where Mana Shield is in the damage reduction calculation.

That said, it's not a game-breaker, but it does make things unnecessarily tougher--kinda like being stuck using only Moonstrike to kill Astrogha. *cough*

Mana shield mechanics are wierd. All dmg taken by shield counts as if u have 0 resist and u take full dmg. Elemental dmg is much higher that phy/magic cuz it gets reduced by like 80-90% of ur max resist. Eryins do like 1k after reduction which means that they do like 10k base dmg. That is like 2.5k mana lost per hit.
