You can use the Charsi upgrade to make an item rare.
Make sure you use a level 120 char to do it, to make sure the itemlevel is 99.

Ah thanks for the info.
I couldn't remember if charsi added or removed clvl, so i said 120 just to be sure.

get the rare item from an uberquest on destruction . those areas should drop mostly ilvl 99 items

farm the new elite areas that came with 1.2.
before 1.2 i used to farm nihlathak room for rares.

Aspirine, Have you had good luck farming those A5 side areas? I get lots of Rares, but they're almost all Tiered. The only Sacreds I seem to get are low-tier items--boots, leather gloves, that sort of thing.
