Get some mana leech. It's not too difficult. Mana values were adjusted for these reasons. Are you playing the current patch?

2.) Get hit, throw stormcrows and count seconds until you get full amount of knives back. Pretty easy test. You can just go in the blood moor and find that out easily.

1 . many of the assassin skills have high/unreal mana costs . it forces you to socket p.sapphires in weapon / use teganze amulet , MO with mana leech /MOA if going melee .

2. could be 5 seconds but i am not 100%sure

High mana cost in early game is not single case for assassin, Ive seen many players complaining how they obliged to buy mana pots (all over again) in order to use their spells.
It might be good idea to reduce mana costs from certain spells for 10% on lower levels.

I always play on most recent patch. There's no point of not playing. Ofc getting mana leech is easy but now it force you to get it and waste mo/socket slots for it. Otherwise you wont be abele to attack and probably in "late game" when i have like lvl 20 SC it will cost 100 mana with 1000 mana in asn mana pool ? So 10 strikes and you are fucked ?
I know that throwsin is powerfull build but with that mana cost it becomes usless as "starter" char. Also i also wondering why only assassin get fucked by doubleing mana cos of her skills.

A naked assassin has 1800 energy at lvl 120.

Having tons of trouble with the first level challenge with an iron spiral barb. Using http://forum.median-xl.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=18385 for a guide, have all of the suggested TU's at 3-4, but I'm getting wrecked. Can kill the mercenary guys fine, but Athulua just doesn't seem to take damage from me, and half the time I can't get close enough to hit her. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong, something I'm missing? One issue I know about is very little of my gear is MO'd, but farming any substantial amount of gold is a huge pain, any rares only sell for ~1k at most. Other than that, I don't know what else to do, and I don't even seem to be close to killing her nevermind anything else in Tran Athulua

Tran Athulua and the priestesses are down from the waypoint, you should see it on the map. You're trying to do Athulua the goddess herself, which is a totally different uberquest.

Figured with that name she opened a portal to it or something, haven't played since a lot of the uberquest changes.

Edit - Oh god it was so easy.

I'm currently trying to do the trial of contrition on terror difficulty but learned I need to get a book from the summoner in act 2 and cube with my class charm to get the dark portal spell to summon king Koth. I don't seem to have the book and i went back and killed the summoner again and he didn't drop anything. Am i missing something?

the summoner drops the book in destruction difficulty, it shouldn't be too hard to get there, plus you can pick up the butchers charm en route!
