Short Questions Thread

Hello!

With two friends we just started to play this mod a week ago for the very first time.
We didn't know about the Tran Athulua quest until it was too late for them, they were above level 50, but I was thirty-stomething and with their help I did the quest not only one, but two times. We were trying to do it a third time so we all get the special charm, but for some reason when I get the third sunstone I can't cube it with the elemental prism. Had no problems with the first two, but I don't know why I can't do it with the third (Of course, I cubed it instantly, before the 30 seconds limit).

I'm still lvl 40.

Does anybody know why is this happening?

hello everybody! im a friend of enanoakd, and i want to know if there´s any way to clean the sockets? it´s doesn´t matter if i loose the jewels/runes , just i want to clean the item. ty.!

cube the item with an oil of disjuction bought from gheed, if it's a grey item for runewords then you'll need 3 pgems aswell, if not then just use the oil in the cube.

What setting do I change so my forum name doesn't show up in the "Streaming" box when I'm streaming other things? Is that a forum setting or a Twitch setting?

It's a Twitch setting. When you change the game off of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, it unlinks from the forum since the forum doesn't see D2 as the game being played. If you're playing D2 vanilla or another mod or something, then just delete your twitch name in your profile.

Why does Life/Mana on attack and %Life/Mana stolen per hit doesn't work with ranged abilities such as Sun Strike, Barrage etc?
And what weapon modifier should I use in this case, the only option I see is Life/Mana after each kill?

Life/Mana on Attack only work with skills which are Attacks (see second line of the description on any skill on the tree).

Life/Mana leech only work off of physical damage. Sun Strike converts 100% to fire so it cannot leech. Barrage can, however.

Are there any more or less up to date (in the last 6 months) guides for newbs? Trying to get back in Median XL and it's just so overwhelming with stuff. I tried reading the documentation but it doesn't feel newb friendly, especially about challenges.
