You need to reinstall D2. Open multiplayer. Reinstall LoD. Open multiplayer. Then reinstall median and u should be good.
It's most likely a patch issue. If this doesn't resolve it she's a mystery.

It always chooses ur main drive/program files/D2. Just make sure this 2nd instance of D2 ur installing isn't trying to Install in the same place as your other instance of D2. I would put them on separate drives if u have another one.

I have a small issue with in-game sound. The "Gameplay volume" slider controls both SFX and Music , the "Music Volume" slider controls only music. How do I do if I want to hear the Music with low SFX volume ? In town, no problem, but when starting to fight I can't hear the music anymore, SFX are too loud.
Is there any solution ? I like to play D2 with the original in-game soundtrack.

There is a nice tool in the "Tools" section of this website called "Speed Calculator in java", that should do it ! =)
