Got a new laptop a while ago, I can't play MXLU because I can't get D2SE to work.
When I start it, it looks like this:
I've tried all the Compatibility settings and troubleshooter. Also tried reducing the resolution to 1080. No difference.
Done lots of Googling, no solutions.

Have you tried to disable desktop composition in settings of exe or lnk? I'm not sure how to fix it for real because using XP SP3

Which operating system are you using?
Also, D2SE is not mandatory to play Median XL, it's just convenient.

- Using Windows 10.
- I haven't installed 1.14a (not sure if it's a good idea since I have to use the 1.12 core anyway?).
- Not sure about "desktop composition", I don't see that option under Properties (but I have tried various Compatibility settings).

how total damage for wdm chars is calculated?
like if i have x-y damage weapon
and a-b elemental damages from passives and items
and dmg buffs like bloodlust and motw (lets say +k% damage)
and +u% dmg to undead (assuming im attacking undead monsters)
how do i calculate my final dmg?

Failure to start might be a 1.14 thing, but the jumbled mess has nothing to do with it, I'm pretty sure. I have reinstalled D2se after installing D2 with discs and I still get that, though less catastrophic. I'm wondering if it is a resolution bug that comes with wider screens?
