1) 5% absorb means that 5% of given element's damage heals you instead, which is effectively 10% of extra reduction to elemental damage. Just multiply by two.
2) exactly. IIRC avoid protects from any attacks, melee and ranged, but there are also "dodge" and "evade". Apparently one only protects from melee attacks and other - only from projectiles, but I don't know which is which.

There are scrolls of enchantment for two item slots (helms and amulets) you can only obtain from goblins.
Wish to have it fixed in farewell patch for sigma 1.X...

In Median, "avoid" gets you all 3 and protects from all attacks and spells while you're standing still or while you're moving. Barbarians get "avoid while standing still" from Immortal, which is equivalent to classic's "dodge" and "avoid".

That is not true. If it were, you'd be immune with 90% resists and 5% absorb. Absorb is applied after resists yes, but as a percent of the damage you received: https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Absorb

For example, if you had 50% fire resist and took 1000 fire damage, you would take 500 fire damage, then if you also had 5% heal, 5% of that damage would be converted into health, thus in our example, 500 * 5% = 25 life. From my understanding, the life gained from absorb is applied before the damage from resists are added in. Got it? So, using our 90% example, you would take 100 damage from 1000 and of this remaining 100, you would heal back 5 health with 5% absorb. At least, this is how I understand it works.

1. Bug / oversight, pretty much all "immortal" summons sometimes die. Should be fixed eventually.
2. Don't know about QT pierce, but getting flat ele damage mitigation helps a lot (high level assa can fully tank his Trinity Beam) + Absorb % is great too
3. Recipe ("item design") for the Book of Cain drops from Xazax and (very rarely) from goblins. You need it to upgrade your Laz charm.

Another tidbitthat might be helpful for the Quov Tsin fight is the poles/totem things in the middle of the map block his beam attack. So you can use those to take breaks/heal back up. Sometimes he teleports too far away though. I'm guessing there's probably a way to rotate the pole/totem blocking so he stays closer to the poles/totems.

He uses mythal which should be like -20 res iirc but is irelevant unless you arent maxing your resists with gems or/and have max res gear like lotto amu, dementia, indigo, etc.

You can't control where he teleports, you're meant to get gear for the fight (90 res except poison and 150 flat phys res), although if you're playing a ranged character you can just sprint close to him, deal damage and then run/teleport away, works but is slow, if you plan to farm for trophy/good charm better to just get gear for it, it's not hard to get.

You don't need nearly that high ele res for QT nowadays. Crystalline Flame Medallion, 80 resist fire/cold/lite, and 170-180 PDR (I know 164 wasn't enough when I was farming a trophy recently, but 184 was plenty) will do the trick.
