bear stance is a must have in mid game (at least on the switch attack) . extra boost to total character defence and 25%DR , extra damage + it ignores the physical resist of the undead .
change the gear you use ASAP . change the boots with

for the miasma proc
see if you can get an Krys rune for

. keep your spear as main attack because it deals higher damage , switch to 1h+ shield for more safety when needed
level 100 runes up to ON should be not hard to find in places like terror K3KBA or Fauztinville .
with those changes , your chances of staying alive increase a lot . more time alive = more time to deal damage = higher chances to collect charms -> you can get at least 75% of the charms with that gear .
make use of that low timer freeze teleport too for crowd controll / to stay out of danger

yes , for spreading extra magical damage (VoR is not enough) at least for the early-mid game . it can go as 1-pointer in end game if you choose to invest into vitaity , still , more points into str= more damage so it would be nice to have some points there . 25% go to vitality anyway via Dragonheart ...
