I already redownloaded/reinstalled diablo/D2SE/Median. I am playing on TSW and not using any third party software.
Couldn't find a technical support subforum to post this in, so I am posting it here.

I don't know if it's always the same error, this is just the one for which I had the presence of mind to note it down. I will check if it's different next time

What game server are you playing on while this occurs? When you first launch a game on TSW it will tell you. The (feint) possibility of a version mismatch on the server's end might not be out of the blue, albeit very rare. Anything else specific you can mention, such as your D2 version, how you're running the game (d2se or vanilla, glidewrapper or ddraw, etc.) might help as well.

Google "Gateway Editor". With that one you can add another Gateway manually

Hi, thank you for your help so far.

I am finding that in the gateway editor I still had all of the information for U.S. West, U.S. East, Asia, and Europe. Even in my D2 client those are my only options. However, when I go to connect to any of them, I still get the message "Battle.net is unable to properly identify your application version" and I cannot update it.

I have tried doing a fresh install, but clearly my registry file isn't cooperating and it defaulting to the TSW realm. Any ideas? The gateway editor doesn't seem to be helping.

Go to registry editor.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Blizzard Entertainment -> Diablo II -> right click and delete BNETIP

BNETIP value is created by TSW.reg, it's not there by default. Works basically like an override.

Quick question regarding the lottery recipe. Are both items returned? or is the charm lost and only the item that was rolled returned with the chance to have bonuses?

Charm is lost after cubing, that's the purpose of being called 'lottery'.

Hello everyone, quick question here.

I want to start the Black Road Challenge, but when i kill the Butcher nothing happens when i cube the charm.
I get the red swirls, there is even a sound when i cube it, but nowhere does it say the "fear" that indicates i have done this. Any ideas?

And its the same with The Binding of Tal Rasha, i cube with a perfect stone and again nothing

Are you cubing cc alone? If you are then post a pic. Remember its terror dif.

I haven't even started the 2nd difficulty yet, maybe i don't get the swirls, because i can't see very good from the auras my paladin has?
If he dies from Symphony of Destruction or Vessel of Retribution does it still work?

Im not 100% on this, but I dont believe those work when you are on Hatred. I think it begins at Terror and above.

Havw you done volrath and sunstones? Swirles are very hard to confuse. And yes it doesnt work in hatred. And yes you get swirles from sod or vessels or summons.
