Nope. But I'm really interested in seeing this shield so I can understand what you mean about it being white. Can you post a screenshot of it please? Or is the shield itself white, like a boneshield?

Okay that shield is considered magic quality. The color of the name of the item, which in this case is Targe, indicates the quality of the item.

White = normal
Gray = normal + socketed
Blue = magic
Yellow = rare
Orange = shrine crafted
Green = honorific

In the current patch, items cannot be upgraded from magic to rare quality. It is possible to roll a normal quality (white) to rare with the quest reward from Charsi in act 1.

Not at all. Magic quality items typically have a max of 2 affixes on them, so one would be missing out on additional stuff that a rare or craft would have but its fine if you need the skill and haven't farmed the necessary items to roll something more appropriate.

Are the blessed oil of luck bonuses lost when you craft the item again? So you only want to attempt when you havr the item you want rather than doing it to the base item?

What kind of improvements can I do to a grey item before using it for a runeword? Besides upgrading them to Superior.

Upgrade to superior quality

Reroll it until you get a decent ED (enhanced damage/defense) bonus
Reroll until lucky recipe works
Add ED mystic orbs
Craft jewels with modifiers you need
Lucky jewels
Unsocket and remake the runeword until you have a good roll
Add ED MOs again

Has kurast 300 BA changed? it's not dropping any class charms even though it used to be 100% chance for a random one
