Off the beaten track build.

Hi Y'all.
I've been AWOL (due to life) for a few years and back again playing this wonderful mod.
right now playing a bowzon and rebound barb, mainly cause i m more familiar with them.

but what i really want is to play a not so popular and off the beaten track build that can still be powerful and do most of the ubers (if not all). :mrgreen:

something with any char, with the skills that are available in their skill trees. (not tantrum or some random 'this is a imba oskill build')
any ideas, suggestions on what would be a nice build to play (with preferably not just one skill that i m button mashing throughout the game?)

i did check the more popular builds in the guide center. just wanted to check with the general population on any builds that did not make it to a guide but still was a lot of fun to play.
i would really appreciate any nice if possible fleshed out suggestion.

Use Sacrifice and reanis, frost totem for PI, bounce round using AoD to Spread Pestilance (and insta kill no PIs when you hit them, easy reach 8mil poison on AoD)

One build that I played on hc last ladder and was very strong was an unholy Brimstone caster. It seems to be pretty "under the radar", since I have not heard that skill mentioned in the 1.5 years since I started median.

The build goes something like this: max TB, Stormlord, Superbeast. Enough in blessed life to reach 50% dr with gear, enough in SoD to reach 1 sec cooldown timer, then everything else in Euphoria. Max energy (sc) or max vit (hc) or half/half depending on preference. You go for a rare Pally helm & war scepter with high brimstone rolls at 120 (level with apoc 1h + apoc boots), & as much fire spell dmg as possible (later crafts over rares) and an amulet with skills and devouring cloud.

The main idea is that by going for double oskill you free up so many points, which in turn allows you to max all passives & new hard point based TB and put a lot in Euphoria. Having a lot in euphoria in turn allows maximum focus on fire spell damage on your gear to maximise dps, and also gives excellent performance vs heroics without gear swaps. Devouring cloud is the oskill of choice so you can farm Fauzt comfortably + it's just strong in general. Brimstone does simply absurd damage since you get 48 slvls from two items alone. Its only downside is that you reach the sprite limit pretty easily, but that's not that big of a deal since stuff dies instantly.

Since UHC is such a staple I feel like there should be an up to date guide for that build - at least the classical variant with mind flay & slayer or maybe some oSkiller like this - but I don't have the time to do it myself. It would be cool if someone would to take up this torch and write a nice guide for it.

That is a pretty nice and solid suggestion - will definitely try that on my hc pal
Edit: does ilvl 48+ softpoint Brimstone cost a lot of mana?

I think i have that mana problem when it still a holy spell.

But unholy have more energy, but at same time more cast speed.

So i assume you will have the mana problem probably until you reached SSSU gears or ultimative ubercharms.

Mana regen MOs (if full vit).

you can play amazon with 2hand sword if you really want to of the track completely lol

It's as Suchbalance said, you can play as Apocalypse din (from TU long staff + roll rare boots in mid Terror ) to lvl up
