Love Diablo 2 and since there is no remaster I am looking for a good mod. Is this one active? Are there people on the servers?

yes, there are a lot of peeps lately, but most offline people are waiting for 9 days trailer :lol:

Median XL got a nice Community and nearly 7k Players only on the official Discord, so player base should be a lot more than that.
For me personally it's the best mod i've played for diablo 2 compared with other "popular" ones.
In 9 Days the whole game will reset and start with a new game engine called SIGMA, so maybe you wait till then.

I believe the "expansion" or "update" or whatever they call it, is Sigma and the engine is actually called "Core" unless I read it wrong.

Either way, I have a feeling numbers will spike once it launches. It's too bad this thing has no advertising, I know there's a lot more than 7k people who would enjoy this. I said in another thread "not many people play this" and some guy jumped down my throat like 7k is a huge number. It's a good start, but it's not the millions that it could have.

There are multiple gaming, D2 and general reddits that are very much alive with buzz of the upcoming new engine. Advertising would mean overhead, and over head means charging for stuff. I don; think that is a road the devs want to go down.
7k is alot, grading on a curve based in popularity of other D2 mods.

Discord numbers means nothing, it's not even a world wide popular application, some people are still using skype, team speak and other (obsolete) software. If you want some real numbers you'd better check downloads count at moddb and that's still would be quite a rough estimation cause it doesn't take into account all the people who used MXL launcher for example.

Thats why I said ONLY on Discord are 7k Members.
I agree the actual Playerbase is a lot more higher than that.
